Wow, such a memory holed event, I never would have guessed they'd want to take down the rest of the building in a controlled demolition after half of it fell apart due to lack of maintenance and water damage.
>>543737649Just to add, at the time of the Surfside condo collapse, I was living in a building in Taiwan that had had water pooling in the lower level of the parking garage, and that had a pillar blow out in the upper garage level, and that had some major cracks in the walls of the upper garage level, and that developed a quarter-inch crack through one of the pillars inside MY apartment on the very fucking top floor of the building.There were even engineering renovations done to cover up some of the damage. I tried going to speak to the engineering firm about all the OTHER signs of damage, but they just laughed and told me to cough up $5000 if I wanted anything studied.I am very sure that that building is going to collapse, probably in the next big earthquake in northern Taiwan but maybe just on its own.
