>>543735585they work for business interests, not for the interests of republicans. in fact their voting records are extremely consistent with this. much of their appeals to nationalism are performative and symbolic. beyond cheap "god, guns, & family" rhetoric, they offer virtually nothing to advance nationalist interests like restrictive immigration. they even walk back their lgbt rhetoric if it helps to advance a war (i.e. "that shithole in the middle east hates gays so we need to go to war with them").
