The recent failed execution of Pike has shed light in the issue.
>over 7% of lethal injections are botched
>electrocution is agonizing, with 2% being botched (people catching on fire or otherwise requiring a multiple jolts)
>gas chambers create a serious chemical hazard for staff, including the dead body
>hypoxia is just straight up horrifying and unpredictable

A 500kg mass falling 10m produced around 49,000 joules of energy. On a theoretically completely rigid stop, this would result in something outrageous like 49 MN (49,000,000 Newtons).

Now, the actual force produced depends on stopping distance. A 1 meter stopping distance would result in 49,000 Newtons. 10cm stopping distance would be 490,000. It’s the basic work-energy principle.

It only takes about 2,400 Newtons to squish a human skull like a grape.

Imagine two 10m (30ft) vertical poles roughly three feet apart. Between them is a 1m long, 12ā€ diameter steel rod. It slides along the poles on linear bearings. The condemned is positions so the weight nearly free falls onto their heads, squishing it between the steel rod and a steel strike plate.

The victim remains conscious for about 30 seconds.
>hypoxia
Nitrogen hypoxia is god awful. The first such execution was just a few years ago and took 22 minutes. Victims continuously gasp for air, then begin convulsing for around 19 minutes on average. There’s zero evidence to the ā€œjust fall asleepā€ theory. In fact, we’ve witnessed the exact opposite.

Squishing heads like a grape with a giant weight like something from Looney Tunes is a more realistic, more humane approach.

Exactly. The entire idea is that the failure rate would be very small. Hangings and firing squads have abysmally poor track records.

Another option would be a curse coffin with a bullet-proof viewing window and a gun-like apparatus pointed at the head. The condemned is strapped into the box with their head immobilized. The apparatus fires a single shotgun slug, destroying the brain instantly. The entire enclosure is then buried or burned.

Contrary to what Jewish Hollywood has told everyone, a pistol round to the brain doesn’t cause instant death. You can even see suicide videos where the person is moaning in severe distress as their brains bleed to death. Juxtaposed to shotgun suicides, where the head basically exploded, and there’s no comparison.

Patently false. The guillotine absolutely does not kill people instantaneously. Why would it? The brain has to be destroyed instantly to end consciousness. Removing blood flow doesn’t destroyed the brain right away.

>>543736370
The three-drug approach still has the horrible track record of being botched (again, it’s over 7%). Plus sourcing the drugs has become increasingly difficult. Louisiana didn’t have any executions for 12 years because they couldn’t source them. They eventually went back to electrocution (and hypoxia).

Around 3% of hanging are botched. That’s lower than lethal injection (7%), but the difference is stark. A botched lethal injection means it took longer than expected. The victim is still unconscious; death just took longer than expected (generally).

But a botched hanging results in cruelty. This thread isn’t about the morality of torture.

This is something I have thought about before. For speed and effeciancy and painlessness I always figured something like a pneumatic piston to the brain would be good.
I think the real best answer is just to go back to swift decapitations. Yeah, maybe your brain lives for a second, but it's not gonna know what is going on. Can be drugged beforehand anyway too. I also think it's better culturally, there is more integrity, somehow, in my opinion.

also this should be done with a large metal horn, probably brass or copper or even gold.
like taken from a hironymus bosch painting, and of course on the biggest public square, the horn has to be long enough to allow for an entire marching song to be played by a marching band. And a lightshow, like there used to be with these countdown disco balls on new years eve

and alllthough this concept has a severe weakness, the convict should also be tortured indefinitely beforehand, until the next criminal who is convicted of the death penalty is brought up, also on public display.

You can either go for something simple, like a car battery, but i think perfect would be a big wok like bowl that arcs a small electric shock every few minutes, registering when the person is trying to sleep for example, or stay still, else the person is amputated three limbs except for an arm, with the surface of course being teflon, or some other slippery material so they remain there, on public display in the wok until the execution date, which is set to be exactly when the next person is convicted of a capital offense to take their place.
obvious weaknesses of such a concept would be that people could try to get the motivation to murder someone for example or commit a capital offense, in order to murder the amputee cripple on the punishment cripple square, to take their place, while intending just that. But honestly, i will take the risk.

I would expect, in a 100%white society, this would reduce capital offenses by idk, 99%

>>
>>543736728
It takes less than 30 seconds to choke someone out. No way is anyone conscious for more than a few seconds if even after having their head cut off and all the blood coming out. Blood oressure inside the head would also be 0 instantly.

People faint from standing up too quickly. Youre a genuine moron if you think that people are conscious for half a minute after decapitation.
>>

North Korea figured it out a long time ago: figuring squads using anti aircraft guns. The condemned is vaporized instantly and it leaves virtually no room for botching or survival with a failed execution attempt.
>>
>>543736109
Yes. But also consider the OceanGate Titan submersible incident. A big deal has been made of the fact that the occupants of the sub didn't even have time to for the nerve impulses to reach their brains before they were turned into molecular soup. They were dead well before their brains could register any pain. Nice.

We should learn from that. Place death row inmates inside large barrels reinforced to withstand similar depths experienced by the OceanGate sub. Then attach a heavy weight like a big concrete block with a chain and simply biff it overboard somewhere suitably deep, like the middle of the Atlantic Ocean or the Marianna trench.

Now think of the benefits, we are adding valuable nutrients to the ocean ecology. Its humane fast simple and absolutely no chance of failure. Plus the condemned get a nice sea voyage.

Anyway its fucking bizarre how often executions get botched when you consider how many people die everyday from simple accidents, like falling off a ladder or tripping on a sidewalk.

the guillotine is unnecessarily gory for the executioner to deal with and might cause him some trauma. The accused being alive to contemplate how his actions led him to lose his head isnt even a bad idea.

nitrogen asphyxiation if done right is completely unfeeling. people working with liquid nitrogen sometimes asphyxiate themselves and dont even feel it.

You could put a guy in a little divot / well, put a respirator on him and flush both his surroundings in the well and his mask with N2. Few minutes later he is unconscious and in half hour, dead.

No gasping, because that is dependant on CO2 levels, which you have "air" out with more N2.

Also nitrogen is dirt cheap, easy to get, transport, store... chemical injections cost thousands. sometimes tens of thousands per dose.

cuck opinion.

A death penalty should be bone marrow chillingly cruel, as to deter future crime, and society should be encouraged to rejoice in the removing of criminals.

It shouldnt be cold and detached, it should be part of the public conscience.

People used to be beheaded or hung, or put on display in public.

If you make the punishment unique, cruel and bizarre, involving as much performative element and cruelty it will deter more crime. I mean youre in the US. A crime infested hellhole, my idea would only work with very few convictions for the death penalty, which would also naturally occur due to it being so deterring and cruel, that nobody would risk being punished this way, potentially staying in the cripple wok for a year or two.

People would grow up knowing the fate of death row conviction. There would be school excursions displaying it as the most refined feet.

also, implying:

>Roman colloseums were degenerate.

also implying
>the cripple wok is quirk chungus

Adding honor or whatnot to the procedure of dealing death by the hand of the state also is the entry step to being a morally molested bleeding heart faggot at the will of subversive commie retards

You are a worshiper of Death. That is degenerate af.
The death penalty should exist to stop harm by erasing a person who has, or will do grievous harm to others.
To stop them from doing future harm and as justice for having done past harm.
A very small percentage of sick minded, violent criminals are responsible for most violent crime done. They do it again and again and again, all throughout their lives.
If they were deleted as soon as it was apparent that this is how they were going to conduct themselves, we would live in a safer, better society.
>>
>>543740561
How am i worshipping death? I am expecting this to reduce crime, and the number of death row convictions.

If you have a comparably cruel and dehumanizing method go ahead.

>A very small percentage

which is exactly why you need two, maybe three, ingredients:
1)society at large needs to feel superior to these individuals and be galvanized in feeling justified in treating them as trash
2)the punishment has to be so cruel, that the thought alone of having to endure it instantly trumps every consideration of enacting the crime
maybe 3)a perfect surveillance state, with very little crime to begin with

but yeah, i can see how it is flawed, and might seem quirk chungus, considering that a perfect surveillance state would already have to be ultra civilized.
I just would've thought that such a state is able to treat the sociopathic ultraminority of pathologically criminal people, you describe, as animals.

I can tone it down a little too, but i think public execution, through a dehumanizing and bizarre method, with indefinite torture beforehand, also publicly administered, is perfect, because it completely trumps every cruelty that an individual could muster, which should in my opinion be the calculus of the death penalty.

>A death penalty should be bone marrow chillingly cruel, as to deter future crime
I think you misunderstand the criminal mind. They can barely conceive of the future.
Our brains are bad at processing this stuff. They say, well we either get caught, or we don't, and it's no matter what the punishment is it's already so bad if we get caught we may as well not think about it.
Increasing the perception of being caught however does reduce crime. For example, even printing eyeballs in public places makes people feel watched enough to commit less crime.
>>
>>543740737
i hope i am not worshipping death. death would take about 3 minutes actually. the time it takes for a marching band to play a waltz and the liquid excrement to go from one end of the horn to the other, and then maybe a few minutes until death sets in.

i mean, you can probably do a procedure which is less violent and more instant, but why, if you expect to enact it every two years or a year at most?

Put someone's head in front of the barrel of a cannon and fire the cannon.

which is why you teach about the benefits of this method in school.
it would maybe encourage people also to say things like: "see you at the other end of the shithorn" or so on, if they think someone is suspicious.

i think you need to fortify the death penalty against three things:
1-Reduction of the surviellance state itself, saying it is more liberal to do so, or less paranoid or whatnot, to live without one
2-moral arguments about cruelty
3-people not taking it serious

if you have these three removed, the death penalty stays, and can in my opinion chase the people who would commit crime like raping toddlers, into their sleep, stopping them from doing so.
While encouraging people to think that surveillance is omnipotent through symbolism or whatnot is alright, i think it only makes sense if no individual, or group of individuals could put themselves above the law, morally or in terms of force, meaning cruelty.
It gives people certainty that they can enact cruelty to the guilty, and so all the petty things which inform a narcissistic individual or sociopath to commit a severe crime, would in my opinion fall through.

but idk, i might be wrong.
I will never govern a country anyway, in all likelihood, so this will remain science fiction

you can of course make this surveillance more precise, by surveilling violent people with a low IQ more thoroughly.

Again, criminals are often criminals exactly because they refuse or cannot complete education.
Japan has the death penalty, but if they didn't, it would not change their crime rate.
Many African states have the death penalty, and it does jack shit to stop them being shitholes.
I just don't think it helps do much other than save money.

Make-it like Jury-Duty?

i mean you cant tell me, that seeing a triple amputee in a big bowl crawling about for two years is not something that someone can not conceive as abhorrent enough to not want to have to endure it at any cost.

of course, all of this is a thought experiment, and i dont endorse anything like it.

can you through maximizing the cruelty aspect of the death penalty, actually eradicate crime?
>>
>>543741334
History is proof of that though, because all of the insane medieval torture methods did not stop crime in medieval times.
>>
yeah sure... if you can not conceptualize the punishment in your mind, yes then it's probably not good....

back to the drawing board it seems

yeah but maybe only because they didnt have the surveillance state to back it up.

what is the alternative, bringing back stoning?

I dont know, irreversible brain damage as a punishment has potential

What about permanent transportation to
New Zealand
?

Me personally, I'd like to see an industrial grade catapult used just for executions. Launch them at supersonic speeds. Could be over the ocean, doesn't matter. Just fling them.

Personally I’m a big fan of the waist chop but there are a lot of old bangers that could be brought back.

Just fucking shoot him.

Its too messy for institutional justice. Lethal injection is popular because its just poison and a needle.
>>
>>543735655
Firing squad, it's the only way to be sure, and no one has to be the guest of honor at a botched hanging or an electrocution malfunction.
>>
>>543737697
That's not how hanging works. It's not strangulation. You only see that crap in the movies. How hanging works is they drop you from a fall and break your neck instantly killing you. It's the most humane way to kill someone because it leaves no blood.

Eh painless death only encourages crime, you need fear.

I would propose a slow drawn out horror like having the eyes gouged out, tongue cut off and eye's sliced and ears popped. I would then introduce IV liquids and pour boiling water over a percentage of the body to induce burns not severe enough to kill but maim. I would then lower said criminal into a caged hole in the ground surrounded in cockroaches in a comfortable position where his joints are neither fully open or closed and either the criminal would eventually subsist on a diet of roaches and pain for months or would die from infection over the course of weeks.

You would not only destroy this person physically but also mentally. Nobody would even consider crime if this was to happen. Imagine this happening to you, losing all your senses but only the sense of feeling and it only knowing pain, the isolation of knowing your in a hole in the ground and those things crawling all over you are filthy cockroaches and you either starve to death or eat them and that it could go on for months without end just you alone with your thoughts and uncomfortable pain.

This. Instantly obliterating the brain stem and as much of the brain as possible instantly deletes consciousness and causes death. Very hard to botch an execution-style gunshot, and it's really cheap.

Might want to opt for something more destructive like a high caliber bullet or a shotgun, as something like a .22 could just bounce around a bit and turn someone into a vegetable without completely killing them.

Hanging? Of course, it's still easy to botch if you're a retard.

Just do it like it was meant to be done. A dull rusty machete as it slowly and painfully is used to cut your head off. Then cut out the heart and offer it as sacrifice to the gods. My people have it down to a science
