Did European people switched languages?

1. Did Finnish, North Russian and Belarussian people spoke Lithuanian 2500 years ago?
2. Did Poles and Czech and Slovak spoke a long dead Celtic language 1200 years ago?
3. Did Pannonians (re-named as Hungarians) spoke a long dead European language 1200 years ago?
4. Did Macedonians, Albanians, Serbians and Romanians spoke Greek 2000 years ago?

Languages are constantly evolving yes. Besides vowel or consonant shifts, sometimes grammar themselves change and you'd get new languages entirely.

its true that languages evolve but did entire populations accept another language due to pressure?

>French evolved from Latin
>Spanish evolved from Latin
>Italian evolved from Latin

each of them ended a bit different

Did languages actually ''switch'' or did people migrate or get lebensraumed?

not in Finland, Finland still has same genetics as 9000 years ago as proven by thousands of years old "swamp corpses"

Finland however has likely changed the language a few times

Finnish language had its begin in Russia and then it migrated to Estonia and finally to Finland about 2000 years ago latest but it could have been a longer time ago. Estonian language was documented by early Romans, some 2500 years ago. But they did not visit Finland.

Dunno about others but yes balts and slavs specifically russians spoke same language, both were also heavily involved with scandinavians.
There is evidence that slavs used runes for writing and our paganism is basically the same as nordic

There is general schizo idea of mine that Vanir are slavic side of gods and Jotnar are "eastners" that being Sami, Fins, Slavs (Russians), Balts

Since Finnish is related to Estonian, you likely already spoke an ancient form of Finnish or you got lebensraumed by the Estonians (lol) The Finnish people also were a very small nation, like 1000 years ago only about 40k Finns existed or something. I think that your population only skyrocketed because the potato got introduced or some shit, because otherwise the climate was too cold to farm in and support large populations.

There is such a thing as old french
It's pretty similar to modern french tho
>>
2000 years ago Romanians built Rome

so its not really a relevant change I guess

also old french did come from Latin, didnt it.

except Bretagne which is Celtic language
but its not the same as french/old french

Bretagne actually still has its own language and it's completely different, I cannot understand a single words(I'm half breton) of it, very few people speak it but it has somehow survived for centuries
