Alcohol in moderation is good. Nothing wrong with having a glass of wine with some good lunch every now and then. I like cooking with wine too
>>

>Alcohol in moderation is good
Modern medicine says otherwise
>>
>>543767460
Alcohol is necessary for several flavors that are extremely sensual.
Tobacco was largely gutted but it's the same.
Tea and coffee are also similar and coffee is experiencing a massive development, similar to what happened to wine so many many years ago.
People who drink to get drunk, especially with the modern conception of 'drunk' are strange however yes.

Alcohol is only the most destructive drug if you don't understand per capita.

>>
>>543767605
I tried drinking a bottle of cooking wine once when I worked as a stocker in a grocery store, I learned that cooking wine is very salty and it has such a low alcohol content that it makes you feel sick but it doesn't get you drunk.

I'm not even an alcoholic, my job just sucked that bad, I would try anything to make the time go by.

Legality has nothing to do with it.
People NEED substances. Very few live without anything, and they have different societies, largely. The human need for altered states is nearly universal. If ALL of them were legal, we'd hit a period of chaos, then things would even out again. If it was socially acceptable to smoke cannabis, some more would choose that release instead.

Alcohol is legal because in small doses (like a beer or two) it can have a similar effect to caffeine. Which caffeine is legal because it makes you a good worker bee, you take it to perk up and get through the day.

And the binge drinking, why that's legal to do. Because alcohol is the kind of drug in that dosage that keeps you aware of your problems but makes you not care when you're intoxicated. So there are situations where maybe you should care, you should maybe quit that job or end that relationship, but alcohol consumption makes you not care about it for several hours. It turns out, that for most cattle, this is actually fine. That so long as they get two days off out of 5 and they just feel like they don't have any problems for 6-8 hours while under the effect that's good enough. To continue to be a good worker bee.

The reason why they ban something like psychedelics is because cattle could do something like magic mushrooms or LSD and then wonder what the fuck they're doing with their lives. And they will quit the dead end job, maybe even initiate divorce and things like this. It's not good for the worker bees at all, so it must be banned.

Worker bees will be told by the bee keeper that he's allowed this and disallowed that for them because he really cares about their heath. And it's like no, retard, he cares that you produce honey. If there was some substance that made bees work even harder and produced more honey overall, he would give to to them, even if it killed some bees. Beekeeper would shrug his shoulders, well I always lose them even when I open the hive to inspect them so who gives a shit if some die?

Stop thinking about whether the powers that be ban things for your well being, and consider what the benefit is for them. Anything else is cope from cattle that don't want to believe they're cattle.

I have a high IQ. I'm smarter than the vast majority of people. I'm a fucking idiot though. I get stuff wrong all the time.
I step outside my door and the vast majority of people are almost 3 standard deviations fucking stupider than me and that's the world I'm forced to live in. I know a lot of you can identify with this. Talking to regular people, your coworkers or your family, is not easy. I'm good at it even, good at pretending to be normal, but it is exhausting.
So alcohol is great because it makes it a little bit more tolerable. It makes normal people better or even fun to be around and it makes me more tolerable to be around.
After a few pints I think 'oh this is what it must be like to be a normal person, this is great!'.

Alcohol is 'bad' though and my use of it, to make life tolerable, makes everyone around me sad, so I don't drink any more, to keep them happy.
I'm miserable, I'm bored and life has no taste any more but at least I don't drink.

Not drinking at all is actually more harmful and associated with a lower lifespan.

The problem is excess, and off label additives, and driving.
Quality hard liqor or beer gives no headaches until consumned enough to dehydrate.
Yet 1/3 as much crap can still give a headache. Most liqor sold in the US is crap. With some inexpensive exceptions.
In Europe the average quality seems much higher.
Push for laws to require all additives and processes generating additional chemicals to be on label and you would see an industry shift.

>Why?
It's been with us for thousands of years, that's why.

>>
>>543767460
The main upsides are the social aspect, it’s the large amount of establishments all over the country that cater to alcohol, every restaurant, if you’re dating, networking, or just chilling with people. It really is shit though, and the best thing is to quit it for the most part and then set yourself a 2-3 drink limit for the times you have to have a drink on a date or for some event or holiday. When you do this you’ll realize how shitty it feels to drink, the sugar, dehydration, and feeling suck when you’ve been off it for a while and your body is clean.

The stuff is also addictive, so normies and people who don’t keep track of it will end up wanting to do it more and more, the weekend will start on thirsty Thursday and you’ll have a Monday hangover drink, then Tuesday you’re hungover, and Wednesday is the only day you’re sober and normal, then you’re pretty much drinking all week, and you’ll either end up doing that, or having to cut back on days where you kinda crave a drink.

Definitely a good thing to cut back on this ahit as much as possible, though it does make suffering the various hellmatrixes of life bearable.
>>
>>543768767

>>
Alcohol makes people stop caring, it lowers inhibition. When it comes to bread and circuses, alcohol is at the top. The "wine" of the ancients was diluted down to maybe 3%... Beer was practically 1%, the idea of 40%+ spirits was absolutely unknown for all human history.

Like everything in modernity alcohol, gambling, porn, smoking, drugs, goyslop, social media, short form video content, etc are designed to hack your brain. Jews and oligarchs are loosh farming you irl. You are not mentally or biologically capable of resisting these things unless you notice this, train yourself to resist, and ride the tiger. But no, you are a "real man" sucking on a bottle of whisky or whatever...

Hitchens had a good line on this, alcohol is a master-slave relationship, and you have to make sure you are the one holding the whip! If you feel these things aren't serving you anymore you can just walk away, you can just say no, and live with a clear mind.

Real bongs drink alcohol.
Alcohol brought society together.
The Beaker people were welcomed in to Bongland because they brought the gift of fermentation with them.
Mudslimes like you hate alcohol and thats why your mudslime countries are shitholes today.
The early mudslime countries used to drink alcohol and their societes were enlightened.
Thats the reason early Islam was the centre of learning. Good wine made them enlightened.
Then the hardline sand niggers like you took over and the mudslime societies degenerated into the shitholes they are today.
Omar Khayyam wrote the "Rubaiyat" about seizing the moment and enjoying life by drinking wine and loving life because life is short.

Until about the mid-1800s people almost universally watered down their alcoholic beverages, especially wine. It was considered barbaric even by the ancients to drink unwatered wine. They called it "Thracian" in civilized Hellas.

Alcohol consumption is so bad nowadays because people do not restrain themselves at all, largely owing to Hollywood brainwashing.

What are you even trying to say here? The whole rise of the American mafia and bootleggers happened *because* of prohibition, alcohol became a cheap and easy commodity to sell on the black market. Well there were probably other causes, but the rise of criminal enterprise is a point *against* prohibition, not for it. That combined with other factors like the government adding methanol to industrial alcohol and blinding a bunch of people on the process was what made prohibition go away.

Prohibition actually did change habits long term, many states had restrictive policies for decades. Kansas didn't allow "sale by the drink" aka bars until the 1980s. It took almost a century for Americans to start drinking like they did in the 1910s, only for marijuana legalization to cause it to crater again.

As somebody who is anti-alcohol myself I’m actually not against the idea of outlawing “sale by drink” practices, banning alcohol advertisements, and similar tactics to minimize its appeal. I don’t think any good would come from reinstating prohibition though, the stuff is insanely easy to make to the point of absurdity, especially in the modern day. At least with the current system in place the damage from alcohol is somewhat mitigated, and its increased taxation gives a bit extra money to the state.

Upsides don't really matter. It's not possible to truly prohibit it. You can make alcohol so easily.

I can relate. I used to drink to make socializing tolerable. Then I stopped drinking. Now I don't socialize at all and I don't want to because socializing without alcohol is a miserable experience.

It's literal poison, not a drug

Whites should not drink any longer. We will need to be sober and fit for what's coming.

This is a poor people's problem. If you gulp your food down you are either poor now or you were raised poor. Its directly related to how scarce food was growing up or how threatened your dinner was by your family.
>>
>>543767460
We tried banning it, but it was too difficult. People kept wanting to drink it, paying high prices to criminal enterprises. Also, because of accidental methanol poisoning, it was very dangerous to have an unregulated market for alcohol.
>>
>>543767460
if they make alcohol mandatory for every man's woman and child to drink, bacon to eat every day, and ban circumcision, rags, and demonic cult slaughter of animals, then maybe a lot of the muslims will fuck off.
it's what Spain did following the reconquista, make eating ham compulsory every day, along with other laws.

I'm convinced that alcohol isn't that bad it's just that it's the most studied substance we consume of all time and people just over do it.

I've been a heavy drinker my whole life, for like 18 straight years and the only time my liver enzymes went bananas was when I was 17 and didn't drink, but ate a fuck ton of sugar. Just had liver and kidney functions test done recently perfect. I drink like six pints a day. Usually less.
>>
>>543767460
Because they have stripped away basically every single medication that makes people feel better in the last 10 years but alcohol is at every corner store. People suffering chronic pain or mental health have basically zero options now and its very cheap and easy to get drunk and knock out. Id love to know the number of increase in alcoholics since legislation stripped all rx because 5% of people couldnt handle their shit (they just went to fent anyway)

>>543768293
>Alcohol is legal because
The only way the US government could enforce its ban was to poison it and that resulted in killing thousands of people

The demonization of alcohol is positively jewish. Whites were perpetually drunk for all of Western history until about 100 years ago when jews decided their goyim cattle weren't productive and obedient enough.

Ant-alcohol propaganda on /pol/ always comes from Americans. In Europe they have very high alcohol consumption per-capita and yet they have a much lower rate of obesity, heart attacks, strokes and cancer. Particularly in France a lot of wine is drunk with meals and yet you hardly ever see a fat French person despite the heavy rich food with a lot of sauces.

Alcohol is a safe opium for the retarded masses. After a week's worth of living and working by the clock with little break to even piss and shit, with all the stress, you get to finally relax on a friday/saturdat evening st the bar, at the club, at a party, at a concert, or on a date. A beer or a cider or a cup of wine is all you need to get the edge off. Nothing else does it with as little consequences. Weed is good but it causes heart palpitations and panicky worrying feelings, even if you get indica with cbd

It makes people more trustworthy (or not) by removing their ability to effectively lie.
Every high-trust society holds consuming alcohol with family, friends, and coworkers in high regard because it temporarily disables the hyper-vigilant socially defensive parts of our brains that try to maintain an acceptable public face at all costs, and reveals the people for whom that amicable nature is in fact natural while also outing the fakers.
Yes alcohol is bad for your health, but so too are sycophants and sociopaths.

This potato-faced Irishman speaks the truth. The issue with total prohibition is that you end up with a tainted supply of substances, an inconsistent dose or incentive to produce the highest concentration of substances, and an untaxed supply of substances (this is what the government cares about more than anything else). Universally it made America worse for the time it was in place, and created the mob as we knew it, and the cartels as we know it now. If you disagree with that premise, ask yourself why America was gripped by Oxy, Xanax, and Adderall, and now currently has a fentanyl crisis (which is largely (fuck, at least I hope so) accidental on the part of the user).

Frankly, I'm just mad that I can't reliably buy coke without rolling the dice on an overdose from whatever shit it's cut with.

Alcohol can be fine if you’re not a retard about it, but there will always be that segment of society who simply can’t handle it, and just end up getting one-shotted by it. Most people are capable of handling alcohol like a normal person. But there’s a subset of people, maybe like a few % of them, who drink themselves into oblivion like retards. People like Bam Margera, Onlyusemeblade, Styxhexenhammer, etc. are living their lives in a drunken stupor and suffering mentally and physically for it. Onlyusemeblade had to have his toes amputated because of peripheral neuropathy caused by excessive drinking. Even myself, personally, while I’m not one of these alcoholics that’s drunk all the time, I have a tendency to go on these excessive binges 2-3 times a month, where I drink until I pass out and wake up feeling like ass for the next 2 days, and I can tell it’s damaging my body and my mind and I should probably stop doing that.

In US grocery stores cooking wine is wine thinned with other shit and preservatives and with enough salt added that it's not at all pleasant to drink, and is really only useful for cooking. Anyone can buy this "wine" regardless of age since it's assumed you'd puke before being able to drink enough of it to get drunk.
This is kind of a holdover prohibition ingredient though, most people who cook off book these days would just buy whatever cheap domestic wine (usually californian 5 buck chuggers like quail oak or barefoot) fits the style and use that for cooking.
>>
>>543786761
I think eight "drinks" (of standard volume:abv, look it up, don't be an asshole) in a week is the recommended limit for health. Doesn't mean you should *hit* that limit, but physicians typically say it starts really affecting your health at that point.

I'd know, because it's easy as shit to polish off a good bottle of wine in a night. Anything past that is asking for a bad time, though. Being a hard drinker is "cool" up until you're about 25. It's good to be able to handle your liquor regardless, but anything past that--especially when frequently done--and you're going to end up a fucking alcoholic. That's a miserable life.

Alcohol is good.
Semites don't like alcohol and they want it banned.
It says so in protocols of learned elders of Zion. And of course in Islam.
Womens rights and prohibition were pushed by the same jew assisted organizations.
The problem with Americans is we don't drink enough.
Quality of the beverage is important you have to spend more on good stuff, if you drink cheap shit it can lead to alcohol poisoning.

One of my biggest regrets is not getting a viticulture certification and building relationships with some of the orchard-owners I used to live around to start a cider company. I used to work for a winery owner and I genuinely could have seen that as a pretty enjoyable and fulfilling job. If I played my cards right, I could have done work out of my grandfather's old estate and started a genuine operation there. It was like 80 acres of clearable land. That would have been a life-long commitment, but fuck me, what a waste to see it sold.

>Nothing civilized about it.
It is the very reason cities were founded in the first place. Tribes came out of the wild and settled the agricultural river valleys, even though the diet was worse, because only there in settled society could you enjoy alcohol. Every early civilization on earth viewed it as important.

Alcohol is the drug of civilization, inseparably linked to the very process that lifted us from beast to man, and while I commend you on leaving what was no doubt a poor relationship with it for you, some of us are more in control of our appetites.
