Russia made its own Starlink in a couple years and now there's dozens over Ukraine allowing real time control of those Gerans.
Russias Starlink is causing NATO anxiety

We're already close to a Kessler situation.
Go ahead, accelerate.
• CONSEQUENCES
TV and Internet prices will double or triple as land-based services kike out and get super greedy.
People who moved 'out' over the past decade because they still had TV and Internet through satellite services will now move back.
Above will massively increase the power that mayors of large cities have.
Between AI, War, and Satellite Outages - there will be huge migration shifts even within legal populations, that will give them an excuse for even for authoratarian shit.
Once people begin migrating back, they'll leave those areas for corporations and rich people, and try to mandate people moving closer to cities for "safety and resource management" and then implement those "Green corridors" where people aren't allowed to travel. Won't even need people, just high altitude monitoring balloons and then local deployable drone swarms.

imagine the cascade effect of a few dozen satellites getting obliterated
the debris from those satellites orbiting and just flying through the existing satellites traveling thousands of miles an hour in opposite directions
the debris just keeps orbiting and cascading ping ponging among the satellites
then you can't have any satellites until you clean it all up
imagine that

Medvedev wants to start Kessler Syndrome.
I miss the times, when he wasn't considered bat-shit crazy.
>>
>>543771973
>then you can't have any satellites until you clean it all up

lmao, the trick is
>it cant be cleaned up
and its a basically one-and-done fuck up of generational proportions to start creating clouds of un-managed blast debri in space, rendering larges strategic portions of space un-useable, which then necessetates retaliation in kind untill the whole thing is done for and no one has nice things anymore
>>
I grow tired of russia's continued existence, they are like a trailer park that tardrages to get people to feed them attention. Kill them all.

"Space is a cramped place."
Does Medivac even have an IQ?

lol

No Kiev morons request does.
Stop framing
>>
>>543772159
>it cant be cleaned up
That's a defeatist attitude.
It could be done. Drones, AI, global resource kinda thing but the world would be falling apart probably.
Wouldn't be easy and probably take us generations but not lock us in for thousands of years.
The next empire could do it.
>>
>>543771973
That is precisely what Medvedev is alluding to, yes.

Funny part is I think that's why Elon wants off Earth ASAP, but all the shit he's putting up might be what ends up trapping him.

We need Kessler Syndrome. The world has become too small. A few generations without space shit would be great for the planet.
>>
>>543769830
>Space is a cramped place
I believe it's the exact opposite and probably why it's called "space"
>>
>>543773733
Space is big and empty. Useful Earth orbit is considerably less so. Use what you've learned in class to locate context clues about which is being discussed here.
>>
>>543772574
>just use the space vacuum and clean it up!! ez!!

lmao, if even one particle the size of a booger hit a keyhole satellite, $12billion dollars of critical strategic implication is now instantly gone

>>543772968
>Funny part is I think that's why Elon wants off Earth ASAP, but all the shit he's putting up might be what ends up trapping him.
he can want that all he wants, but it wont change the reality his (and any other human)'s bone marrow simply stops functioning before he was in martian orbit.

so unless hes got le alien tech from sub-basement 99 of Groom lake, hes not going anywhere anytime soon

Wow it would really be horrible if the governent couldn't operate all its satelites that spy on us 24/7. I really hope zog doesn't push some state into a corner and that state just decides to Kessler belt the low earth orbit to even the playing field

>In microgravity, the lack of mechanical loading disrupts the bone marrow microenvironment, causing hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) and mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to shift their differentiation away from bone-building osteoblasts and toward fat-producing adipocytes.
>The marrow continues to produce blood cells and fat, but the balance is skewed, leading to bone mass loss (up to 1–2% per month), anermia, and potential immune dysfunction.
TLDR Big Shock! Complex multicellular life that evolved on earth needs gravity for functions.
Unless we develop artificial gravity, long term space travel won't be realistic for biological entities. You'd need either some form of AI, or "mind patterns" of individuals pressed into a biological form better suited to local conditions.

Hasn't Russia's starlink mostly failed by now? They've launched 38~ satellites since 2023 and only 12 of those are still active (as of the beginning of last month). Not a single one of their sats from the june launch made it to orbit.
As far as Kessler Syndrome goes most Starlink sats are in a low enough orbit they'd just burn up after a year or so aren't they?
>>
>>543769830
>Russia making more threats it can't deliver on
Yawn. What are they going to do, shoot conscripts out of a cannon into space to beat the satellites with a stick?
>>
>>543771973
Good thing that can just be avoided by Russians having human-level intellect and not committing suicide
>>

>As far as Kessler Syndrome goes most Starlink sats are in a low enough orbit they'd just burn up after a year or so aren't they?

Yeah, it's several years until they de-orbit because of drag from the thin atmosphere.
Earth's atmosphere extends beyond the moon getting thinner and thinner but still impacting satellites.
The whole Kessler Syndrome is overblown because it could only happen in low earth orbit and the debris would de-orbit in a few decades.
Satellites in higher orbits can take many thousands of years to de-orbit but there are far fewer of them and they're spread out in a much larger volume with the exception of the geostationary orbit which is very crowded but also tightly regulated.
>>
>>543771585
>Kessler situation.
This is a meme
All that would happen is that low orbits would become slightly less durable for a while until the debris decays
Kessler syndrome is completely irrelevant in higher orbits
>>
>>543779649
They used to work in conjunction with a phone line for the upstream. Perhaps because there are a lot of them, they can also handle the upstream connection.
>>
>>543779649
You mean Rassvet?
It doesn't exist yet, China is still developing the technology.
But it won't be like Starlink, more like traditional satellite phones with just a handful of satellites and thus very limited bandwidth.

The whole "space wars" threat is also bullshit.
Ukraine isn't trying to shoot down Russian satellites, it's trying to get America to sanction the Chinese companies designing and building those satellites.
Russia is seething because they cannot develop such satellites themselves so they depend on China.
