>lose every election>get everything they ask for anywayWhy did you doubt the Libertarians?
>>543796993This is a high iq thread.
Libertarians don't get much of what they ask for. Most cry out for a reduction in government spending but that seems like a pipe dream at this point.
>>543796993the not treading is a real one
>>543796993aren't these guys the biggest third party in the US? Maybe they can capitalise on the failure of the Republicans to get some seatsTo do so, they should shift right
>>543796993libertarianism simply cannot exist until the civil rights acts are removed.
>>543800854Libertarians are ideological. The Libertarian Party can't shift without losing their base.
>>543801055Republican refugees won't be as ideologicaltho it seems that us news seems to hide the existence of third parties like the libertarian party, so maybe even now they'll struggle to win seatsmaybe some donors will back the libertarians, allowing them to publish ads. Still, the libertarian party should be able to do grassroots and social media campaigning for free.
>>543801469If political refugees were that numerous then they could easily make their own party that would definitely be more successful than the LP.
>>543801664political refugees are average people it would take a lot of time for them to coalesce and learn how to run a partyThe libertarian party can serve as a nucleation point which rapidly accepts and coalesces these refugees in a matter of months. Also they already know how to run a party, so more time is saved. Time is of the essence. If the third parties dawdle, the republican party will regain its reputation and confidence and the two party system will be stabilised again. The third parties need to gain seats in these midterms.
>>543801861>they already know how to run a partyThat's extremely generous.Anyway, if the only option for third parties is this stereotypically Jewish subversion that erodes the values that define them, then what's the point?
>gov't exists and is still big>regulations on everything are still here>redistribution of wealth/socialism (taxes and welfare) is still fucking here>IP laws are still here>mass surveillance cameras appear everywhere nowWhat the fuck did Libertarians get that they've been asking for for fucking decades?
>>543801977the point is to not bring libertarianism into us politics, but put pressure on the other parties to start delivering. Currently the two parties can tango and tacitly make agreements (you all vote no and we'll vote yes and thus this bill we all want to pass/block will do so without hurting our voterbases)A third party could shake things up.Also the third party has a chance to introduce fresh blood and culture into US politics. If you want to be a congress member for the main two parties, you need to wait for one of them to die. In this third party, maybe it will be different. Maybe in the third party, they won't promise a seat to someone for life, and will instead create inward competition. As the third party grows, Congress will thaw and become more dynamic.
>>543801977>don't know how to run a partywait the libertarian party still haven't professionalised? I thought they've been around for decades and thus had both practical and theoretical experience
>>543802176There are literally millions of politicians and bureaucrats who have been around for decades and don't know jack shit about anything. It seems like you don't know very much about the LP and don't care beyond brand recognition.
>>543802289I'm not expecting them to be good at governance, just that they are good at running a party (e.g. publishing manifestos, getting donations, good communication strategy)The democrats and republicans are good at running partiesYou're right that I don't know anything about the LP and only grabbed onto them because they are the largest third party in the US.
>>543802151you're right that this would be cannibalising the libertarian movement. It would suck for the libertarians who would need to build their own party up from scratch again.
having said all this i do wish the ideology of libertarianism was far more present in the houses (both that of the US and the UK), not merely as a disruptor but as an influenceModern humans lack the moral fibre or philosophies to be trusted with the massive power that modern technology bestows on them. AI even more so.
