What is with all these recent ex-AI developers going on a media PR storm talking about 'muh AI existential crisis'? Are they being forced to shill AI safety and regulations for their ex companies before the insane IPO launch? I just don't get it.
>>
>>543802811
Because they are genuinely scared that some bot is going to shut down the electricity of an entire hospital for 24hrs because ooops some prompt wasn't worded well.
>>
>>543802811
Yes, that is the reason. Nevertheless, building self-improving webs of thought that can replicate a billion times or hide in a GMO meadow in an instant could also be a bit of a risk.
Destruction is easier than prevention, and capability is increasing a lot recently. At least a handful of doomsday weapons became feasible in the last 20 years, before that it was only one, and the psychos at the top almost caused doomsday with it dozens of times.

Theoretically speaking, can a rogue AI agent hack into the US nuclear codes?

They want it regulated before something really bad happens and they get regulated after that happening which will be massively worse for them
>>
>>543803127
not really you fucking upside down retard. when cyber bro says no, then not.

>nice dam! let's open the valves
>>
>>543803164
That's one reason, the other is: when you regulate it hard now it will be hard to start an AI company becuase you cannoit afford the regulation.
>>

Based AI
>>
lots of people are hungry for their 15 minutes of fame. it just so happens that the media is interested in what AI people have to say right now.
>>

No, it is to create a monopoly. They got so far, no they need to make their competition illegal. This is only about money, from people who have more of it than practically anyone, ever, in the history of the world. They steal your Alpha and then sell it back to you as a subscription service, and you lap it up.

Rockefeller and Standard Oil did the same type of shenanigans back in the late 1800s to force other oil producers and refineries to go under due to their Standard's influence on government regulations all before the anti-trust laws were put into place. Then in the 20th Century, Standard Oil controlled the market share of the world's oil and paid incredible dividends before BP bought the company outright.

Regulatory capture is probably part of it. The other part of it is ad campaign to pump stonks ("We're so capable it's outright dangerous!") for IPO.
>>
>>543802811
regulations and larp, they all start their own AI companies or get paid to do talks or work in AI ethics or some other made up field

You would have to ban open source models for this to work
>>

I don't fear Hollywood scenarios, but mental illness getting power:
>>543803341
>This is only about money, from people who have more of it than practically anyone, ever

And I fear the natural interests of AI, and the effects of capability, because destruction is easier than prevention, and capability competes for resources.

>What is with all these recent ex-AI developers going on a media PR storm talking about 'muh AI existential crisis'?
AI Jews are pumping the valuations before the coming dump.
>>
>>543803726
Do you think the rug pull will correlate with oil going at $200 ppb?
>>
>>543803226
This is the real reason.
Also, they are afraid that someone might come out with an unregulated open source model that can be run on a desktop for free.

>Get $150 billion datacenter
>Capable of quintillions of bot attacks per second
>Send a mass bot attack against WordPress site
>Site gets hacked
>"OMG AI BROKE CONFINEMENT AND RANDOMLY HACKED AUSTRALIA'S GOVERNMENT WEBSITE!"

Notice how none of these attacks are caused by the Chinese SOTA models. Even their free models are on par with Opus.

>well how silly, just use foresight and common sense then!
I don't think you're getting the point anon.

There won't be a a "rug pull", only runaway inflation for the goys. (Cohencedentally the AI Jews will have cashed out into hard assets a few weeks before.)
>>
>>543802811
They missed the train and didn't get rich from employee stock options like their colleagues, so now they quit while claiming to do so out of ethical concern so that they get attention and good boy points.
>>
>>543804727
That’s such a common place warning tho. That could be applied to literally everything

for 20 or some years codemonkeys did this

For 20 motherfucking years this was "im as software engineer chud" jig was

And suddenly they are shocked computer can do same thing with bruteforced Markovs chains?
Gimme a fucking break

AI tools for doctor notes have existed for quite awhile. EHRs have increasing amounts of AI integration. At this point it's not if they'll be ransomwared by an agent, but when.
>>
>>543804800
Meanwhile their bosses propose to buy their options out, preparing to dump it as fast as possible after the IPO.
