So has the concept of "infantry" been rendered completely obsolete now?
It has been proven in the Russia ukraine war that this "boots on the ground" is an extremely stupid, outdated concept in the era of drone technology, snipers and cluster bombs.

All you need is a fleet of drones and operators or even AI operators. Wasting huge sums of money on a standing army that will eventually get ziggered and end up in a /pol/ webm sounds fucking stupid.

1. You know nothing about the war in Ukraine you fucking faggot. Infantry is winning the war.

2. You will ALWAYS need physical human presence on the ground to hold territory.

3. Anti-drone weapons will make drones obsolete or t least highly manageable like any other weapon.

4. FAGGOT

How come ? Control of area is not defined by humans in the area but by denying enemy presense in the area. Traditionally infantry has that role, as infantry A in area denies infantry B presense. If you can do deny business with drones and ground robotics the outcome is exactly same. You control area, enemy can not enter.

Depends on what the goal is. If you need to reduce the population because of global warming or whatever the excuse is then it is effective to achieve those ends.
>>
>>543811732
Not yet, but it will be when we have robot armies.

how is a drone going to force a grandma to suck your dick?
>>
>>543811732
It's obsolete and it will only become obsolete more and more

There is nothing stopping a modern army from getting 10.000 cheap shit 250 dollar drones and wiping out entire enemy brigades with them. Nothing. No one will even want to serve in infantry anymore because everyone is now aware how easily you can get obliterated in a second. With regular artillery you at least can hide from it and escape from it. Drone will hunt you until it finds you, if it doesn't another drone nearby will.

No, retard. Next question.

Dipshit standing there in daylight with nods.
Hes certainly obsolete. Not necessarily infantry. You still need boots on the ground to occupy an area.

>drones your nukes first

>had to use infantry to get the drones into range of the nukes
Oh wait we didn't think this through.
>>
The CIAs drone footage shilling was just a lazy rehash of Syria TOWcam, the main objective being to discourage foreign fighters.

I passed on the Ukraine war but they was just because Wagner couldn't come to terms and the ukies were refusing to pay.

No these drones are being used like light mortar, if a light mortar falls on your head there's nothing you can do either, and while drones are I suppose better, their range is inferior, they don't mass well, and are really a feature of low intensity combat. If you're carrying out an offensive drones are the least of your concerns.
>>
>>543811732
I don't see fleets of drones in Ukraine though. Just single drones occasionally going after isolated targets.
>>
>>543811732
the point is genocide
kikes in the Ukraine government drafted all the young White men (and now the young White women) explicitly so they could be droned and replace with Indians
kikes in the Russian government did the same thing

now kikes in the Argentinian government want to do the same thing with Brits and Argentinians over the Falklands

it's why kikes in the US government desperately want a draft, so they can find a reason to get you drone striked

Id go further and say the meat itself is becoming obsolete. We can't go to space in it. Drones wreck it like confetti piles. It's too soft and squishy and we've learned all we're going to with it. Maybe the next steps is beyond meat. Synthetic people like that lab grown beef but made of steel.
>>
>>543812145
Infantry occupying an area need at minimum food, water and ammunition. A technological web equivalent to those squaddies needs all sorts of maintenance and logistics beyond that.
>>
>>543811732
A squad can hold a street, a platoon can hold a hill, drones can't hold shit and as the US learnt during the Vietnam war and is relearning during Iran holding ground is the only way to win.
>>
infantry is the new air force, navy and artillery, you retarded homo.
>>

How far do you think drones can go?
Do you think a cheap drone gets piloted by someone 300km away from the frontline? I do hope normal people realise when we talk about drone warfare, there's a pilot around 10 to 30km from it? Except for the most expensive drones that can reach thousands of km in a one way trip. Like hehe in ww3 you'd be a drone operator and sit safely behind the drone far away, about a few km away that is.
Either way, as most drone operators you'd still be on the field regardless of your drone range.

Drones change the game vertically because they create an opening in the low altitude range, aka the air littoral. Artillery is still king of the battlefield, and it only became an artillery slog because Russia could not gain air space dominance. But even a more competent air force like the US's learned this lesson in Iran. The air littoral is increasingly described by military strategists as a modern, three-dimensional "no-man's-land" or a highly contested frontier.

>>
>>543811732
Nope, infantry may be the weakest unit and it may die to almost everything but it's also the cheapest and most versatile, if they die so easily today is because tech hasn't catched up yet.

We lost and gained land.
Failed successfully?.
