I went to Cincinnati for like one week and was able to hit it off way way more people than all my 15 years in Pacific Northwest. Nah i think PNW is the least friendly part of the whole country

1. The lack of extreme weather. Thunder actually scared them.

I lived in PNW for almost 40 years, then moved out to Florida.
It's night and day difference.
People in PNW tend to dislike "small talk" and stick to the friendships they made in their youth, or at work.
People in Florida tend to really enjoy "small talk" and are open to stay in touch with people with similar interests.
Example:
If you are into Cars in PNW, the only friends you will have to work on Cars are those you meet at work or from your youth.
In Florida, your random neighbors, or people you meet at Car shows, will invite you to come hang out with them and work on cars together.
There's just a different culture.
Also work culture is different too.
In PNW it's like "work is family", which is totally bullshit.
They want you to be available 24/7 is what they actually mean.
In Florida, you work for money then you don't even know each other afterwards.
People here treat coworkers like competition or aquaintences, instead of fake friends.
Pros and Cons to both, but I prefer Florida community, very easy to make friends, even as an adult and it feels "real"

One thing that is very true about this place, is when disaster strikes there is no shortage of help.
Sure, generally people here leave everyone the fuck alone, and I love that.
The south or more "friendly" places are utterly exhausting for me.

A couple years ago I was taking my son to the lake, and a fella comes up to me and says

Even I was cautious as I couldn't see his hands. But, i did roll him over and he is agonal breathing. Call 911.
Now I do know CPR, however my son is my first responsibility and he was much younger then. Boomer didn't know shit, so had to task him with keeping an eye on my boy while I worked on the dude.
I hate people though, full blown misanthrope.
However I was utterly compelled.
End of civilization I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Mainly because the nigger population is very sparse here and so many people have really old cars that would be easy to maintain and keep running even if an EMP or Carrington event happens.
