However, after meeting with an Army psychologist, the soldier was inexplicably released. He drove home, murdered his 19 year old wife, loaded up his car with guns and ammo, and started heading toward the DC Mall, in all likelihood to commit a mass shooting. Alexandria Va police happened to pull the man over for erratic driving on I-395, he pulled out a gun and shot one of the officers, then fled. The driver was eventually found a mile or so away with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Army officials met with everyone involved, and ordered them to never discuss these events with the media or anyone else. All of the details and information about the soldier being admitted then released from Walter Reed has been completely covered up.The Army psychiatrist was Nidal Hasan. He was transferred to Ft. They purport to be quick and humane but they’re actually strange and torturous. If we’re going to cruelly punish people during a prolonged, painful death, then we should say that’s what we’re doing. But we lie to ourselves, claim the moral high ground, and state that these methods are nearly instantaneous and painless. If we were to truly execute people quickly and painlessly, as codified in law, we would have to destroy their brains. Hanging, firing squad, hypoxia, electrocution, cyanide gas, lethal injection… none of them instantly destroy a persons brain.A truly humane execution would be squishing a persons head like a grape in a pile driver or with a giant mallet, or a mechanism that shoots them in the head with a 10ga shotgun slug. Both methods shield the executioner from the mental tax of taking a life.
