I alternate every weekend with volleyball meetups and country line dancing. Lots of cute bubbly girls in both meetups, lots of social interactions, great time overall without needing booze or feeling empty after "hiking" somewhere for two hours by yourself. Playing in local marching bands, often supported by the municipality, is a very effective way to gather 30+ adults easily to rehearse at least once a week, have a conductor with a clear vision and a place to practice.
