>>543906923chaosevery day new stupid shit from the sovietsvery unstable to watchand they have nukes.
I wasn't alive at the time, but speaking to my elders gave me this impression:Few people thought that the Soviet Union would collapse as quickly as it did, both in that many had expected it to continue for decades, and that once they were quite confident that it would collapse soon it happened even sooner than expected.
>>543906923All of the hyper-corrupt judeo-freemason oligarchs of the Soviet Union became even more powerful and corrupt and pulled the ladder even further up behind them during the collapse as everyone else suffered and paid the cost of it. Nothing else changed, other than a gradual but finally open revival of Christianity.
>>543906923i dont know man, the wall came down the year i was born
>>543906923Basically, 1990s Russia was an exhibition of pure capitalism turning into mad Max. As everyone predicted, you had warlords stealing everything that wasn’t nailed down while most of the country starved.
>>543906923Intense armed violence only touched the capital. A lot of dead bodies. But after that actual collapse arrived everywhere.Sudden infighting based on ethnicity and some historical bullshit that happened centuries ago, gangs everywhere, pointless violence, complete collapse of societal trust, massive loss of jobs, separatist movements, dysfunctional government institutions, complete and utter loss of hope, drugs alcohol and suicides skyrocketed.Market was flooded with western goods but no one had money to buy anything.
>>543907532And also religious sect infiltration, directly from the USA. Massive financial scams. Local goods production was nuked and replaced by western brands. The only good thing was short lived cultural liberation that spawned some decent artists, but it quickly fell off.
>>543907532>>543907664>Market was flooded with western goods but no one had money to buy anything. What was that like? Advertising has a huge impact on culture, so I presume it was very jarring to be faced with all this western product.
>>543907664>spawned some decent artistsname a few please
>>543907858Stuff was finding it's way into country long before, you had to know right people, that's all. But now it was openly available. Colorful, eye catching, aggressive advertisement, huge variety of goods. But you can't get anything. Barely any job that pays anything.>>543907885You know what? I can't. Nothing comes to mind.
>>543908201Sounds positively surreal. I hope the Russian folk can have a few generations without tragedy in the near future, they certainly deserve some rest by now.
