Honest question, Islam indeed waged war against Christianity and other religions and took many key territories like Persia, the Levant, North Africa and Iberia. Later the Islamic empire became a threat that Europe took seriously and altered East-West relations forever.Islam now is weaker than ever, with Muslim countries divided and fighting among themselves and poverty and illiteracy are rampant, everyone leaving for a better life.The Middle East before Islam wasn't peaceful or perfect at all, wars between Eastern Rome and Persia left the region in ruins, Christianity was divided and Christian sects were fighting each other. The native Middle Easterners didn't like their Roman and Persian overlords and probably even without Islam they would soon rise to liberate themselves when given the opportunity.Even if the Middle East stayed Christian or Zoroastrian, other Empires will find any excuse to invade them and take their resources. Islam being backward or uncivilized is just a justification for invasions. Think about it, why would the West even bother with Middle East? It's just a desert full of savage tribes, why put military bases there and invest billions of dollars in military infrastructure and risk your soldiers just to die for sand? Doesn't make any sense.
