Second was that they overhauled a lot of kernel level so all hardware drivers had to be adapted. When it first released most things didn't have a Vista driver yet so a lot of accessories worked badly. This was a time when accessory devices were much more important than they are now. The other problem was that XP worked fine so few were compelled to upgrade.A few years later Windows 7 tightened up everything Vista had laid a foundation for and was rock solid, performance was good on normal pc's of the time, and all drivers worked more or less flawlessly. Windows 7 is the clear pinnacle achievement of the Microsoft Windows team and it's been downhill ever since Ballmer or whomever decided to steer Windows 8 toward tablet convergence.
I never had trouble with Vista on my Q6600 and 8800-GTX.

I have a question.People came together and created a free OS called Linux. Why haven't they done the same with a web browser? Why are we still use corposlopper webbrowsers?

They become a standard and introduce quirks and methods and all sites get built toward it. If you build a new browser and don't follow all of the market-leader's rules most sites load wrong. It costs money to adapt your site to be compatible with a new browser and no business cares if it's actually the one following standards. Now that AI cannons can do things quickly this might be something that is realistic again.
