Joe Biden was the first presidential candidate I ever voted for, and to this day, I'm incredibly proud that I cast my first vote for him. It meant something to me. It was my opportunity to participate in our democracy, exercise a right that generations of Americans fought to protect, and support someone I genuinely believed could lead this country with dignity and decency. That's why I find it so insulting when people continue claiming the 2020 election was rigged without providing credible evidence of widespread fraud that could have changed the outcome. More than 81 million Americans voted for Biden. Those were real people making real decisions, and dismissing their votes because you dislike the outcome is an insult to the democratic process itself. You don't have to like Biden, but you should respect the fact that millions of Americans chose him.And then there's Trump's obsession with rewriting everything around him. Replacing Biden's presidential portrait on the White House's Presidential Walk of Fame with an image of an autopen wasn't clever or presidential. It was petty, childish, and deeply disrespectful to the office Trump himself occupies. The gold decorations, the extravagant ballroom project, the obsession with renaming geographical landmarks, and the constant need to put his personal stamp on everything make me wonder when the presidency became more about one man's ego than the country he's supposed to serve. The White House belongs to the American people. It isn't a personal palace, a branding opportunity, or a monument to whoever happens to occupy it.What frustrates me most isn't simply that people support Trump. Americans are entitled to their political beliefs, even when I strongly disagree with them. It's the willingness of so many people to excuse behavior they would absolutely condemn if it came from a Democrat. The double standards, the conspiracy theories, and the complete disregard for basic presidential dignity are fucking exhausting
