This is a hard thing to do even for most people who think they are Christians. You basically have to be a layman ascetic at the very least to live a truly Christian life.
The reality of this world is you will have fleeting joys that are holy such as love, family, nature, comfort, if you're lucky. Some don't.
Even if you do get rich and famous, you still will suffer. Being rich and famous doesn't prevent you watching your parents get old and die, watching your own body fail you, pain, disease, hardship, sorrow.
The biggest thing is breaking free from worldliness. That is what really takes you away from God, from the narrow gate.
If you're a young man reading this you're probably thinking often about sex, sports betting apps, crypto, fame, social media, thinking you're missing out because your algorithm is showing you a false image of what life actually is.
Once you truly reject these things your life actually begins. In the modern age, it takes a special kind of person to be a Christian.
