By then it will be too late though. Dark Age incoming

I used to tutor math in college way back when. Most of the time it was just algebra tier shit. One person I remember I asked to plot something like y=x+2. They actually pulled out a graphing calculator.

You see, this is difference between people who rely on calculators and understanding math. You can just plot y=x and know the +2 shifts the line up two on the y-axis. You can draw the plot faster than it takes it even turn on the calculator. That's the difference between ignorant, useless fucks and people who actually understand the basics.
>>
>>543984297
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO STOP THE COUNT

(get it? count, cause it's math)

>>543984234
I don’t get what’s so bad about AI. It can explain you things over and over without getting frustrated, it can help you solve problems and write scripts, it really unleashes your true potential and puts an end to intellectual gatekeeping because unlike a book or some professor or a professional explaining you something in a certain way, you can interact with it and it can explain things in different ways.

Even Ted realized doing math was futile
>>
I think it's both tragic and hilarious. They yoinked a $1m prize from right under a guy who was working on a proof for a long-standing problem. And they probably trained the AI on the data he was storing in their systems. So it just took his research and completed it before he could.
Sure, yeah, that's sketchy, but it's also funny.
I think it may be better that math becomes a solved entity that all of humanity can access, compared to it being secret knowledge available only to those who've studied it for decades.
Sort of like how chess is now just completely solved by various computer programs that you can run on the phone in your pocket. We can still recognize the great human achievement of being the best, even though computers will always be better.
And like chess, our mathematicians can study the outputs of the computer systems to better understand the 'game' and improve their own insights into it.
I'm a software dev, so believe me I can understand the frustration. There will always be holdouts who want to keep the field 'pure' because they're protective of the thousands of hours of investment they've made into becoming 'experts' in this field.
But truth be told, we're all better off just having computers solve most of these problems.
>>
>>543985609
>ask ai
>what's the correct notation for X? (basic stuff)
>*provides answer*
>what's the correct notation for Y? (very similar, but the answer is only slightly different)
>*provides exactly the same answer*
kek, this happened to me once.
>>
>>543985669
I would agree with you if those models were free. But since they are privately owned it's not really a matter of letting the computer solve those problems. Is letting a corporation rule those problems, it's the same gatekeep but now it's a corporation

and yet the ai doesnt know how many "e"s are in the word seventeen. we should totally trust it to invent new math. maybe 2+2 could equal 6???

this is a good thing btw
>>
>>543984924
But people won't learn the basics of the industry with AI doing all the leg work, retard. You phase out the entry level postions, keep seniors checking all the work AI does in their place, then when your seniors retire *poof*, noone left or experienced enough to fix or catch anything AI fucks up.

Same fucking shit happens CONSTANTLY when companies outsource to jeets- you don't grow any actual talent and get some fuckoff in Mumbai as a substitue your shit WILL collapse in on itself.
>>
>>543985805
Well of course you have to have some grasp of the subject or confirm the answer from another source but it’s so useful at work because I’m an electrical engineer so I don’t know shit about writing scripts but with AI I can just easily write scripts in VBA or Matlab or make it to through customer materials and extract data from it.

ai is fake and gay

it can only spit out stuff it has already seen, it cant create something new
the moment you ask it something noone asked before it totally shits itself. the problem people underestimate the amount of trainingsdata and how common they are. ai is nothing more than a proof of most people are useless the begin with.

not going lie, its a great helper for tutorial like stuff, but the moment you go beyond you need smart people.
the problem we face right now is extended kikery. the time it takes for a new computer scienctist to become usefull is now taken by ai because its cheaper, better and faster. every progress we make now is already done, hidden somewhere and ai will be able to find it. after that we're facing a wall and no more progress will happen because the smart people responsible for progress died and kikes denied a new generation of smart people

Why is the baseline assumption that everything an AI outputs was the result of a 3 word prompt by someone who doesn’t know anything about what the output is supposed to look like and does zero quality control?

Literally just try to use it for something you are already an expert in or are very passionate about. It’s a force multiplier. Knowledge and education are still mandatory to get anything useful out of AI.

I have no idea why anyone uses cloud-based LLMs apart from people who are naïve and want to have their IP stolen from them.

Time and time again it is proven that they are doing marketing stunts to con investors while taking the credit of people who actually do most of the work. The AI is really good at what it does, no question. But only a fool at this point would actually use it for serious work since they are effectively set to go bankrupt in under a year.

Token-max them for trivial slop and social commentary. The clown show must end.
>>

Yeah, good point. The centralization of AI and gatekeeping of information is going to be bad. Especially since, like google, they'll simply refuse to allow their systems to deliver information they consider 'bad'.
I always laugh when I go to type pol in my search bar, and accidentally hit enter instead of down. And I see that google (or any other search engine) won't link to /pol/ at all. Instead they offer up the wikipedia entry for it, which is intended to scare the average person away.
Now imagine what AI can do with this. Not only can it divert you away from 'bad' information, it will be prepared to influence you away from looking any further, using psychological tactics and whatnot.
I debated with Grok over whether the holocaust happened (it did not), and while I ultimately got Grok to relent and say that I was right about X, Y, Z, it STILL refused to accept my conclusions. And after all that (an hour of debate that I was clearly winning) it kept trying to get me to reconsider
>Because no reputable historians or institutions accept those conclusions
And it just kept beating me over the head with appeals to authority, and taking me down rabbit-holes of 'euphemisms' for the mass murder of jews hidden in various texts.
Even when I got it to admit that the 'euphemism' arguments were probably bullshit, it just dropped right back into citing previously debunked arguments. It was weird.
Now imagine that tactic applied across the board to all inquiries. Even questions that are 3 steps downstream from 'forbidden' conclusions. Not only could AI cut you off before the conclusion, it could correctly identify if you're headed down a path that might lead to those conclusions.

>>
>>543987497
If it's something to do for fun or just to see what the program can do, then that's okay. It's spending tokens to do trivial things which means they will go bankrupt sooner.

However, if it's important IP work or actual development code for a real project, then you may as well assume that your work is in some public git repo for everyone to use and take credit for.

I have little doubt that they are training on people's personal IP that they willingly gave away to these companies like total retards to keep their 6 figure salary without any real effort.

I understand this but I just don't like the idea of Claude telling you "no I can't do this". That just opens the door for corruption. I also built for fun an app that tracks every bill that goes through the house who voted for it and how and it gives you lots of easy to digest data. I made it specifically for nomies to keep them informed. What if that blew up, a senator didn't like it and told Anthropic to come up with a new restriction so it couldn't work on my app anymore. That could be an issue
>>
>>543987902
Pretty much all of them. I tried Claude, Grok, and ChatGPT various models. If somebody comes with an answer to this you can publish a paper on it. It's not inherently that complex to understand if you learn basic topology and set theory.

I think you misunderstand the point and opportunities that can be created. Office work is being automated with Grok Bot and other agents that will make the Jew daycare completely redundant. You will be fighting with jeets desperately for roles that will become increasingly scarce.

Meanwhile, someone with a trade that can make things has a better chance at learning design and starting their own business today. All they need to do is use an LLM to make the front-face, and you don't need 500 office workers to manage taxes and routine work.

It's over for office slop. The office slop has maybe 5-10 years left if that before it becomes a thing of the past.

I work in software in relation to a very specific field that I can't really name. Anyway, a TON of the work I do was based around the intersection of 3D shapes. What shape is yielded when these 3D 'objects' intersect?
I had been using a bunch of arcane solutions to these problems written by professionals in the field 30 years ago, meant to run on 100Mhz computers with 16M memory.
The algorithms were extremely complex, and poorly documented. Variable names were nonsensical, just a, b, c, d.
The knowledge had effectively been lost. Wherever these things had once been documented was long ago deleted or lost on a hard drive that had been scrapped.
So I took it and asked Gemini to rebuild it in modern javascript. Not only did it succeed, it actually popped up a pane where I could take the 3D shapes and manipulate them then get the 2D intersection as a separate shape isolated from the 3D objects.
I was blown away. From that moment on, I've fully believed in AI's capacity to outperform everyone. What it can output in mere seconds would take me a month's development time to plan, research, execute and deploy.
I sort of lost where I was going with this point. But that's just been my experience with it.

Quantum physics is actually useful in chemistry and electronics with replicable results in real life. Whatever this is, it seems to be fart smelling.
>>
>>543984733
What is this?
>>
>>543989741
Not really, I mean yeah it's a bit stupid to romantic math this much. But bluntly dropping this is a pretty bad thing too. And we should have quality math available for everyone (as in if you want to learn about whatever advanced stuff by asking claude you can) but the problem with this type of proof is that you lose the journey. And if you keep going long enough I don't really think most people will truly understand math like we do today. People won't have patience to sit through hours and years of their lives trying to learn something that is "solved" and doesn't have any sort of economic value. And with that you lose the ability for humans to prove anything by then. You have to remind yourself who is the future for? If you blindly accept the results of AI without being peer tested at this point you might as well make the rules of the universe because no one will be able to understand and dispute those claims.
Good scientific progress is about providing humans with understandable solutions that can expand our knowledge about how things works. Which can be done with AI but instead people don't care about the human understanding and care about marketing

I doubt they're going to get rid of white collar jobs
even if AI can do a much better job than them right now.

A lot of these job are already pretend make believe jobs. People still work them, and they take themselves seriously and expect others to take them seriously. Even though their job is just sending emails and having meetings.

It'll just become more obvious. Especially government jobs are not going to way. Somebody has to pay Shaniqua a decent salary and full benefits for her four associates degrees. She doesn't have to worry about drug tests and shows up on time.

It will replace people who only do menial jobs and have zero thought of what they are doing. Like CAD software replaced drafters and now engineer is a drafter and engineer in one. Like calculators replaced human computers who were doing hand calculations for mathematician who were the thinking guys while the human computers were just there to do menial counting. And AI again will replace those who do not think but are just clickers, code monkeys etc.
And there are plenty of people who just do things without thinking and never were thinking in the first place. Even engineers who are just a bit more educated monkeys who grasped concepts of maths and physics but still cannot create anything on their own, because they do not think.

>>
>>543984297
OpenAI doesn't care about this kek.

Those nerds don't understand shit. OpenAI makes money by peddling a narrative that AI is super powerful and dangerous and they're so scared of it going off containment and taking over the whole world. Because it apparently keeps hacking every institution if you leave it alone for a second, and also solving every previously impossible problem.

They're just going to spin this in a way that makes it look like those mathematicians are worried because AI is so powerful. And they'll say something like
>sorry about that guys! in the future we'll try to leave some problems for humans. as part of our efforts to be ethical about the coming transformation of society, we'll tell our ultra powerful internal models that they have to leave some unsolved problems for humans otherwise humans will feel obsolete. and keep it in strong containment so it doesnt break out and hack every government
And then they'll reinforce the narrative basically. And the maths may be just slop. These mathematicians should just call out the slop instead and prove it wrong (if it's wrong), or if they can't prove it wrong because its massive walls of text of slop also call that out and tell the public how it's probably wrong, and OpenAI would stop. Only challenging the narrative would make OpenAI stop.
>>
>>543993835
At least you proved today the ones pushing this divide aren't blue collar workers but jobless NEET kikes. I am glad the ones that actually have jobs don't do this
>>
>>543993718
ok but you also have to have an open mind when reasoning about the future, because there's so many variables

there's three options, in my opinion. doesnt have to be right because nobody can tell what will happen.

if AI can make deliverable software on its own, that's going to suck for software devs. nobody will hire a software dev because he deserves as he's so good at what he does that he can't possibly get replaced. he would get laid off too.

however, if AI can't make deliverable software on its own, then its basically not a problem. it will merely change the job. less devs will be needed, but every time this happens it creates jobs instead of reducing.

and the third option, AI can make deliverable software similar to apps we currently use, but they will become more complex and still need devs for the more complex apps it will make. then it will be like the above paragraph.

Canada has a weird employment market. It's true that there's a lot of graduates as a % of the workforce.

Most jobs are looking for a degree, and U of Toronto for example has 40%+ underemployment for graduates.

Most colleges are just for pushing numbers of graduates, and they are also now scams since they are used for international jeets to get PR since most of the colleges are run by their jeet brethren scamming each other for student and employment visas.

Most of the graduates today in Canada are shit skins. In fact, I barely see any white person in the high school I used to go to. It's nothing but jeets with occasional chinks sprinkled in. It's mostly a scam at this point run by the government to get foreign jeets to loan-max so that the debt market can keep expanding instead of contracting. Then, there's also real estate scams.

When was the last time that, after getting directions from a GPS, you pulled out a paper map and confirmed the route it gave you was correct. We won't need to check the AI's output 99.9999% of the time and the incredibly rare time it is wrong you can either get another AI to check it or you could just have the one guy who understands coding to check it, the same way there are still the occasional guys who can troubleshoot assembly.

Did you click the MAID link NEET kike?
>>
>>543997026
That's not a hyperlink, wagie. Therefore, I can't click it. It's better for an office worker to make a presentation for us.

Do you have a general practitioner your mommy takes you to see every 6 months?

How much of a retard loser do you have to BE to keep posting all the "math dorks btfo morons on top again forever no lurynyng fo muh?

Yah. She drops me off to see your wife/girlfriend once a week. Your wife/girlfriend generally practices on my penis while you're at the office making presentations for Shekelstein.

If you're still anti AI you're gimping yourself

>watch 2 minute Codex setup tutorial
https://youtu.be/LhlkqB1qPBA?
>buy 10$ asset pack so the game looks cohesive
>tell AI to make whatever game with it
>done 2 hours later

It's actually crazy.

>but it's slop!
you're literally in charge of what game it makes, playtesting, and telling it to change what's bad, my guy

White people don't get healthcare in Canada. That's reserved for immigrants and wagies on insurance. I could see why a wagie would seek MAID. It's a really tough life being """working class""".

Very poor rhetoric to sell desu.
One of the most classic situations is the composer who does not listen to music while composing. Or the artist who does not look at art while...etc.
Consumers will never be great producers.
And, normal people will never understood the great movement that drives great work. Only the pale shadow that stirs them for a moment.
>>
>>543997836
Wow! You surely are interested in MAID. I bet you read through the entire web page on your own! I couldn't expect anything more from an office worker.
>>
>>543997753
If youre still pro ai to the extent of fully and willfully surrendering your agency as a human being then youre gimping yourself.
>>
>>543997959
ask mommy to set you up with a doctor's appointment soon so you can set up your suicide date

Reminder that if you lose your job to AI people with names and adresses are responsible for that.
And im not only talking about the big players, every low tier tech bro is responsible too in a way.
>>
>>543984699
Yes but they are pretty much unreadable garbage for most mathematicians save for the very few experts who are autistic enough to subject themselves to the torture of reading trough the slop, I feel sorry for the people who have to review all that shit. The AI basically mashes shit together until it somehow compiles in lean.

How do boomers expect their gibs to be paid for with no high income W-2 workers?

What are you, an enemy?
>>
>>543984234
SI cant dig a ditch or farm cattle or diagnose a problem and physicalky fix it
SI cant pull an engine apart and put it together or change a tyre
Farmers and trades win again!
>>
>>543986333
>in their place, then when your seniors retire *poof*, noone left or experienced enough to fix or catch anything AI fucks up.
AI will be able to do basically the tasks of 95% of knowledge work jobs within 12 months (at most). One may still rely on meat proxies at first for feeding it the task, but this will not last very long.
Personally, I think that there is a good chance this is happening in the next three months.
>>
>>543998021
I just asked my mommy. She told me to have sex with your girlfriend/wife again to cure my boredom. It's such a difficult life being a NEET having to watch the midwits "work".

>>
>>543992197

Yep that's the bottleneck. Now programmers can produce 20,000 lines of working code per day instead of 100? But who is reviewing it? I suppose other ais will be able to review the ais but then what happens? 99% of humanity becomes obsolete?
>>
>>543998575
None of the loudest voices espousing this quantity over quality shit are reviewing fucking anything.
>>
>>543998575
>but then what happens? 99% of humanity becomes obsolete?
yes. and then the jew rules over the earth with their AI slaves (they dont even need goyim slaves anymore)

All these kike faggots need to fuck off already.

Then we get a global conflict thst leads to a new Bible with a new commandment about not making a machine in the image of a human mind.

Retards think dune was about muh robots muh skynet omg funkopops when in reality dune was about what we're literally on the precipice of today:.Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free.

But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them.

Ok thanks.
Here the population with a degree is 30%. But it goes from 15% to those around 40 and 50 years old to 45% to those between 25 and 35.
Between 30 and 45 about 40% of the population has a degree, but one in three are exported to other countries.
Most of our shitskins don't have degrees. I actually think most (more than 50%) or the arrivals in the last five or ten years are unironically ubber drivers and delivery guys in motorcycles.

Which is also a scam: Jobs which we don't need to prop up the economy and employment numbers.
>>
>>543984234
I don't get what the issue is, if AI is able to solve problems using chat logs from users then it's able to solve the problem. Who knows how long it would have took Buckmaster to actually solve it or if he ever would have solved it. People acting like it's bad that AI is doing problem solving are the same kind of people that would be upset if Trump cured cancer
