The uncomfortable truth is that they actually paid more into the system then they got out. Social security is just another tax. The state takes out huge portions of your salary, promises it will keep it for your pension, but spends it all and offloads the cost to the next generation. Plus inflation eats into their savings. Plus how many people die before getting a single cent out. Plus the younger generation has the infra built by the money the old ones paid in "social security". Let's make a deal, they get all the money they paid into the system through the social security scam, and they get no pensions anymore. Who would it benefit? With the current rates I would need to live to 300 for my pension to make sense.
