A bus comes every 60 minutes. You make your way at a random time to the bus stop. There is only a 1/60 chance it arrives within the exact minute of you arriving to the bus stop. There is also a 1/60 chance it leaves just as you get there. If you did this every day, for say 100 days, you will hit an average wait time of 30 minutes.

The odds are we arrived at the bus stop 30 minutes after the last and before the next. Right in the middle where the most points along the distribution would be. So if we were going to find another civilisation, the odds are, as there would be the most at 30 mins, and the fact that the odds are we are at the 30 mins too, we should be finding them now.

However, we cannot be at the end of the timeline as we would see civilisations accumulated from the distant past, plus the random popping in and out of existence of other ones before they could advance as much as the oldest ones, which some would have started as near to the one minute mark as possible, meaning at the begining only civilisations just beginning could have existed, and as we haven't seen evidence of what could be called hyper advanced civilisations, we probably aren't even in the midpoint, but in the early stages.

I'm confusing myself with the "maths" if you could call it that. Statistically, we should be finding other civilisations, but the odds of us being at the end is far far lower than the beginning, though the odds should be even.

In my 40 years of public transportation I've never missed the bus by being late.
See, when you show up 5 minutes early and wait you'll never miss the bus.

WHY DO NO ALIENS EXIST? WHY IS THERE THE FERMI PARADOX?

IT'S BECAUSE GAY SEX, WHICH IS THE FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIANITY AND OTHER MAJOR RELIGIONS. IS THE KISS OF DEATH.

LOOK AT THE SUB REPLACEMENT FERTILITY. ONLY CHADS LIKE ELON MUSK WITH THEIR HAREM OF FUCKHOLES ARE BREEDING

In all likelihood, the gays will win in ukraine and then the gays will go into hyperdrive and himanity will go extinct.

Behold. In the book of revelation, the gays even write the following. But it's not just about race mixing. It's also the fact that under gay domination, women don't breed.

So yeah guys, we are probably going to go extinct, becauae the russians are outnumbered by the gays and have inferior technology

there are millions of galaxies
in those are billions of stars
meaning billions of star systems
meaning trillions+ of planets

if you were lucky, you might get on average ONE sapient species per galaxy, and that would be a universe with MILLIONS or more of sapient (or higher) intelligent species

>It would take about 25,000 years traveling at the speed of light to reach the closest galaxy, the Canis Major Dwarf Galaxy.
>25k years
>AT LIGHT SPEED
communications signals do not travel at light speed
there is no guarantee at all anything can go faster than that no matter how far your tech advances
let's say some aliens figure out how to send communications signals at half light speed
it would take 50,000 years to get to us FROM THE NEXT CLOSEST GALAXY

universe is likely fucking teeming with intelligent life, and all of us are as good as being the only life that exists

keeping all that in mind, consider that humanity has only had electricity for not even 200 years

and we're practically fucking racing to go extinct

theoretically by the time anything living in the canis major dwarf galaxy can detect anything of our existence, we'd have been extinct for 49,000+ of those 50k years
