He claims they have a trade deficit with us while citing nonsensical numbers that someone in their first day of economics class would recognize as such. He claims fentanyl is "pouring across the northern border" while 99% of drug smuggling happens from Mexico or by sea. He claims that Canada is "flooding" the US with vehicle imports when 3/4 of the vehicles we buy are imported, mostly from Michigan, Indiana, and Texas. He claims tarrifs are doing what his voters want when only 26% of people polled support them and they have caused the US to lose 62,000 manufacturing jobs since Trump took office. He goes on mic to make all these farcical claims about how awful Canada treats him, and then turns around to say it's "unhinged" for us to call it a trade war. It's so bad that the Republican Senate candidate is now attacking Trump's tarrifs for wrecking his state's economy.
