I mean to be COMPLETELY FAIR, India does have a pretty robust tech sector in it's richer areas, but they're mostly dedicated to serving their own domestic market since any of them with English speaking skills just leaves to work in the US for x5 the pay

That's exactly how h1-bs are treated though. As soon as they get the green card, they stop allowing the corporation to abuse them then either leave or eventually get pushed out by management. Like indentured servants, if they quit or get fired then they have to quickly find a new job or leave the country. And corps love h1-bs because they can abuse them unlike citizens who wouldn't tolerate such nonsense, might just call the labor board to sort it out or even sue for damages.
