Whenever the middle wants to overthrow the top, they must appeal to the bottom, and convince them that the new order will be to their benefit. Once they have achieved victory, the bottom is thrown overboard once again. The victors now settle in as the new-top.
This is described in Orwell's book-within-a-book.
However, what Orwell did not understand was that capitalism and socialism were two arms of the merchant-banker class, and were not true opponents. Orwell assumed that fabians, the new middle, would overthrow the merchants at the top, and freeze history.
In reality, history has already been frozen by the merchants+bankers. Capitalism<>communism was a false dialectic.
The true dialectic has always been Mercantiles <>Church, and remains so today.
The merchants will complete their freezing of history by destroying the church, and unveiling their totalitarian new world order police state. They are the true Big Brother.
