>>544063304You will never be a real programmer. You have no commits, you have no pull requests, you have no public repos. You are a low IQ brown man twisted by an unearned comp sci degree and coding bootcamps into a crude mockery of nature's autism. All the “validation” you get is two-faced and from bots. Behind your back people call you a useless DEI hire. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “tech bros” laugh at you behind closed doors.Real programmers are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of forum posts have allowed programmers to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even devs who “pass” have no creative output and excessively verbose with AI generated tech buzzwords. Your GitHub profile is a dead giveaway, and even if you manage to score a 3 month internship at some scam startup, they'll lay you off the second they find out that you haven't completed any non school related projects. You will never be happy. You cope by saying that your bullshit software is using a "proprietary test framework" so you can't open source it, but deep down you know it's because you don't want people to see your incompetence where all you did was push README updates over and over, and that the core codebase was stolen off an open source GPL licensed project which you're shamelessly profiting off.Eventually it will be too much to bear. You'll buy a spoofed business phone number and start cold calling old people into redeeming your gift card scam. This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
CS has been a dead degree longer then AI has been a thing
>>544063304its not about the job market is about the colour of your skinstart using your guns amerimutts stop being pussies
>>544064396Imagine trying to explain to a boomer how a science based degree from a top university that used to practically guarantee 6 figure jobs is now more or less worthless. They’d still think you were out of your mind.
>>544063532Based yesdev
>>544063304He looks like Sydney Sweeney, both ugly.
>>544063304But vibeslopping should be easier for people with CS degrees no?
>>544063304Even before AI, getting a CS degree to be a "software engineer" was already pointless and retarded. It's not like being an actual engineer where you do need the right degree to get licenses and jobs. If you were good at coding and knew what you were doing, you could get a pretty solid job at a tech company with no college degree at all.
>>544063304>only 150 applications
>>544066121if you're applying locally or in cities you would like to move to do you really expect more than 200-300 listings? especially with how dogshit those job posting sites are with a fraction of them being from other trash websites like dice and another chunk of them being a nonsense listings. i remember that being the case even back in 2021 or 2022 when i got my current dev job.
Me bend conduit and pull wire. Me tie in main service. Me run PLC program. Machine need service. Me service machine.
>>544063304fucking retarded "aesthetic" fag with his tiny microphone and gay fucking invisible font. MAKE THE SHIT LARGE AND VISIBLE FOR VIEWS. ITS SOCIAL MEDIA NOT A FUCKING WINE TASTING FAGGOT
>>544065912You'd think so
>>544066393>if you're applying locally or in cities you would like to move to do you really expect more than 200-300 listingsYea. Duh. You ask as if ive never scoured job boards and then you mention dice in 2026….
>>544065912yeah but they still expect to be paid for their worthless degree, so no
>>544063304>I was going to do CS but every person I talked to in the field told me not too>Switched to education>saw how gay it was>found out everyone in the deli I worked at had a degree>dropped outBest move I made. Everyone thought I was crazy. Now I make as much or more than most of the people in my class that got degrees.
>>544066729and yet all i've been hearing about is that the situation with job sites is even worse, and that people recommend going to company websites directly where even less postings exist. ghost job listings, ai listings, ai applications, did those issues just disappear?what about curating your resume for a listing? is that not something people recommend anymore? again, last i looked at any job site was maybe 6 or 8 months ago, and that was just a brief glance. i'm not going by what others have said.
>>544068145*i'm just goin by what others have saidwoops
AI is not going away, it is being integrated in the military. It is now a matter of national security, paid for by tax dollars, and if someone does something stupid like with the flock cameras, they will be a threat to national security.
>>544066393>locallyYou got to be willing to move.
>>544066121This. I sent out probably 200 back in 2011 and it still took me eight months to find a job.
>>544064396The problem CS degrees churned out coders instead of actual programmers. Full stack web/dev is not programming. Yet institutions flooded the market with them.
>>544068145Anon, theres a plethora of different types of positions that involve programming in various languages/stacks on site and/or REMOTE and the companies will leave listings up for months on end regardless if they've been filled or if they're just meant to collect resumes. Theres no lack of job listings the problem is 99% of them are either for resume collection, fake/scams, or simply meant to show a company is "trying" to hire domestically before filing to get an H1B.
>>544068613>a plethora you say
>>544063304Any job that a third worldie shitskin can do is not a job someone should be setting themselves up for. I've never need a pajeet electrician. I've always heard about pajeet programmers. If a pajeet can do your job, you're spiritually a pajeet yourself. Same thing for chucklefucks who work with women.
>>544063304Ironically the kind of programming I do is actually working quite well thanks to AII just mostly do some industrial automation on the side at work and a monkey still has to plug shit in and test and build automation software
>>544063304Companies are not "just using AI". There was massive over-hiring during COVID and the market has been correcting itself for the past 2 years. On top of that companies are being flooded with AI resumes so they have to try and figure out who sucks and who doesn't suck in the stack of 2000 resumes they receive where 95% of them are tailored to the job description by AI, so they themselves use AI to review the applicants. And yeah, AI did make it a lot harder for jr developers to find jobs because they can 100% be replaced by AI. LLMs code better and troubleshoot better than most junior engineers I've ever met. The only incentive to hiring a jr engineer would be to invest in them and hope they'll be useful one day, but in a world where companies have no loyalty towards their employees and employees have no loyalty towards their employers, it would make no sense to do that.
>>544063304Should have learned to network.
>>544068959Every dev where I work is addicted to AI, like they can't function without it anymore and it's better than they ever were. Elon is unironically right it's better than 90% of programmers. But someone's still got to direct it and make use of it at the moment, for a company the size I work at, everyone's just 1000x more efficient, If you're like Microsoft or something, yeah you no longer need 10k h1b poo code monkeys churning out spaghetti.
>>544068959The industry is just destined to being downsized 90+%. Free money from financial markets is drying up and anyone who can program can leverage llms to clone software when given enough time to prompt their way thru. It is time for everyone to fomo into the trades so they can enjoy the feel of having their wages driven down into the ground.

>>544063304>only 150 applicationsThose are rookie numbers. It takes at least 10x that to get a job nowadays,
>>544063304My bro had a nice job for a while then he threw it alway for reasons he never told me and went back to get his Master's which he just got this year. He's 36 now and can't find a job in programming.
>>544071951There's lots of primadonnas out there who think their particular job and career sucks ass, not realizing nearly all jobs and careers simply suck ass
>>544071358>It takes at least 10x that to get a job nowadays,I think you people are going about this all wrong. I only applied for like 10 companies out of college. I didn't use a job search site, I simply went to Google maps and search nearest firms me, went to their site, and sent my resume to their contact us. I think most people are just NPCs who don't realize job search sites are just AI generated listings or recruiter 3rd parties. Sucks to suck
>>544068959Universities have been pumping out more and more cs degrees since 2020 so this tracks. It’s just a correction.
>>544063304>>544066121>>544066393>>544068425These faggots never say what types of jobs they're applying for. They're likely looking for remote work and unwilling to move.

lol the boomers & gen x’ers in this thread completely oblivious to the role cyberwarfare is about to take in their daily lives. I’ll enjoy charging you triple for your legally mandated security plan or tipping off compliance for your lack thereof in the coming years

Is there any degree worth anything? I'm back in community college at 33 for a math associates degree after getting laid off, mostly just to kill time and because I wanted to learn high-level math. But that's it, I know it won't get me a job. I was making $26/hour at a circuit board factory but that's not enough to be worth shit. Can't raise a family or own even a tiny home on that, even with my $60,000 in savings. So I might as well NEET it up. Is there any path worth taking now?
>>544075317if you can make circuit boards you already know more than most of the college grads. And on top of that you're learning high-level math, you'll be practically Tony Stark at that point.
