Simply spilling a vile of plague blood or matter on the floor doesn't expose you to it or even expose you to the plague. Plague is not like ebola where it can spread through skin contact. It has be ingested into the body.Also how the fuck does a lab worker who spills a glass vile of a dealy disease simply walk out of there? Lab workers who handle deadly diseases work in clean rooms with safety suits. And if they are exposed to something the site is locked down and they put into quarantine.

As somone who has worked in BSL2 labs; it does seem weird; majority of the work should be done in glove box isolators; even transferring samples from storage to the isolator is sometimes automated and impossible to fuck up. However russia may have ghetto as infrustructure and operators may need to manually transfer samples into the hoods/isolators. It is very possible for someone to drop a vial when transferring or whatever; all it takes is a drop of solution to land on your glove or your labcoat. If she wasent in a containment suit and doesn't have to walk through a decontamination shower then it's very possible for the pathogen to survive and leave the labspace; afterwhich all that would need to happen is for her to touch her face, or her phone, and bingo she's a vector. Prolly shit Russian infrustructure that lead to this breach of containment. Really it's on her because usually these facilities will have antibiotics at the ready, she prolly didn't want to tell her superiors about the accident because they would send her back out to radish farm gulag.
