when do you think the retirement system will collapse?
for decades, 50 and 60 year olds were able to retire and NEET for the final 20 to 30 years of their lives

of course, this is not sustainable due to economics, so the question is what comes first?
will we scrap retirement or we will keep it, destroying the economy and the young worker?

hard to say but I'm certain it would at least be diminished
in the uk we have the triple lock which have made pensions grow by at least like 4% annually. That's certainly being weakened this decade. We also have tax-advantages when contributing to our pension (salary sacrifice) which probably will also go away)

I'm not confident it will be there in 60 years.
>>
>>544100634
It wont. Old farts will just get poorer and poorer and the youngs staying with them.

>the youngs staying with them.
very grim, at least its better than having 6 pajeet roomates
>>544101133
i see, so they will just not make that much money when they retire

>>544101421
Just save into an world etf, there are enough niggers working and spending money to create dividends.

Perhaps the saving grace for the system will be a substantial increase to healthspan, enabling the government to raise the pension age

finance seems like jewish magic and it scares me
>>544101740
i already see that way too much, 75 year olds working (illegally of course)
>>
>>544100634
I think at some point they will ban state pensions and force people to make private pensions in banks
>>
>>544101909
Nothing scary about it. Imagine buying a property with rentoids in it, that give you money to be allowed to life there. Instead of real estate that you rent out its a company that you own and it creates money for you. And to reduce the risk you buy 1000 companies around the globe. Thats what an exchange traded fund (etf) is.

lol
>>
>>544101909
yeah they'll still increasing the pension age even if healthspan doesn't grow
tho i think the pension age isn't the issue for those 75yos. Their issue is probably that their pensions are weak or they aren't receiving enough supplementary aid for a disability
>>544101981
aren't public pensions a great tool for propping up national industry/bonds? I imagine governments would be very reluctant to part with a stack of capital they can indirectly manage for 60 years
Or do today's pension ingoings get all used up on today's pension outgoings??
>>
TFW already permanently retired because you only have to work 10 years here as retard.
Everyone seethes when I mention being retired.
1300€ is enough to live comfy, let me guess, you need more?

Europeans are fucked because they elect corrupt leftist faggots who tell their citizens "don't pay attention to me, whine about Trump" and here we are.

Imagine an etf is like 1000 german tourists, that you can sell your house for a week without the disadvantages of having to deal with their sandals and socks, greekbro.

They can just stop the index increases or add progressive taxing to pensions so on paper people get the number they were promised but in reality combined with everything getting more expensive it's not much.

It was a pyramid scheme to begin with and a complete joke. It's just enforced by state violence because people who get it can't get out of half of their taxes going to hell and shit. In like the 80s-2000s people used to get what they were promised after they were taxed. Nowadays people are just expected to tirelessly pay taxes and when they ask what they get they get a blank stare or are told they are russian agents who are destabilizing the country.

Am I the only one that remembers when Covid first calmed down they started fear mongering that Korean death bees were invading the US and Europe and then Covid blew up again and that story went away?

They didn't wipe out that many boomers or 100 year olds even if there was a slight death spike after vaxx. They didn't wipe out something like 20% of the population for what I've seen. The vaxx might have sterilized people who were otherwise fertile, dunno, but how would you know if people don't fuck or they don't stop taking pills?

>of course, this is not sustainable due to economics

It's more sustainable now than it has ever been. The rich have just rigged the economy so they possess more and more and more and more and more. They lobby the government to keep more and more and more and more. People are working harder and are more productive now than they were 50 years ago.

They raise the pension age every year you have to be 70yrs old here to qualify for the paltry $31k/y pension which works out to around $2000 a month after taxes.

I max out at $3500 per year in pension taxes to from age 20 until 70 I will have paid $175,000 in pension if they never raise the max contrib which they always do so I will probably end up paying in my lifetime $400k total for a $2k pension. My country assumes you die at age 85 so that's $400k for a $465k pension from age 70 to 85.

However if I invested $3500 a year for 50 years into an index fund that averages stock market returns I'd have $1.2million by age 70
