>hurdur you can learn it all online and don’t need no college When I finished high school I had no job prospects besides minimum wage garbage like fast food. Once I got my undergrad at a state uni, I was able to get jobs paying 70-80k at who companies but got rejected from every well known place. Decided to go back to school to get a Masters and managed to get into Columbia. As soon as I finished and started applying, I got a job offer at the best company in my field making 6 figures. Thiel (who went to Stanford) and /pol/ would literally have whites competing with Mexicans in the trades than be honest about this. I don’t know if it’s sunk cost or what but don’t fall for their bullshit.
IZZAT THREAD!!!COME BRAG ABOUT YOUR TOTALLY REAL DEGREE YOU GOT IN BANGLADESH ITT!!!
>>544106547deport all ivy league graduates
>be me >Highschool drop out>Learn how to make industrial degreaser and car wash>Make 100k with my own business working from home.Nobody's saying business degrees and becoming a doctor is a bad idea. We're talking about gender studies and these stupid degrees that you have to get to cut hair.
>>544106824Some people are but stories like yours delude many people. Most people can’t start a business so going down that path will just result in failure. Also a lot of small business owners will talk about how much revenue they’re making but not mention all the debt that makes their take home pay comparable to a corporate wagie.
>>544107018>posted from my iPhoneyou are not even rich enough to have a desktop PC, jeeta 5090 is multi years wage for you even with your fake ass doctorate from Harvird University, Delhi.
>>544106547You can, most don'tBesides that it's mostly a pushed excuse for businesses to pay people less.
>>544106547The reality is that people need structure to learn worthwhile things properly and thoroughly. Now it is true in some areas shallow/surface knowledge is quite sufficient. That would be an area where you can learn it all online to the extent it makes a difference. Question is what you want to do, something substantial you have mastery over or just bullshit for money. I wouldn't judge people either way but its a choice. Most "hurdur learn it all online" types are NEETs who make the best case studies. Five years of 24/7 free time and they still have to watch Japanese cartoons with the subtitles on, their knowledge of Roman philosophers is no greater than half a wikipedia page and that saxaphone case has a layer of dust on it. They are the best case studies of the problem despite being the ones issuing the lectures.
>>544107211Instead of sperging out and being disingenuous, how about you tell everyone how life has been so great ever since you decided not to go to leftist university? I’m sure you have a positive story, right? You’re not working retail or construction or some shit? You’re totally a self made freelancer and it’s really easy? You’re definitely not a NEET though, I hope? Kek

>>544106547bro you dont need an education to make one of these ok, learning is woke!
>>544107678I’m well aware of the types but my point isn’t even entirely education based. It’s just pragmatic. Companies don’t know how much you know. Sure, they can give you a bunch of assessments and multiple rounds of interviews but the risk remains so they hedge their bets. That’s why, after all the tests, they give preference to those with the credentials. Big Tech all have 4-5 stages before hiring someone because the cost for a bad hire is so big.
>>544106547Who says it isn't real? We just say it's a bad thing
>>544107951>My third cousin Rakshit at Microshit got me the connect, all I had to do was get a fake degree from Harvird University, Delhi and my H1B was guaranteed!Yes, jamboy. Everyone knows about the H1B fraud pipeline.
>>544107951I would agree with you there is no need to confuse the research output of a university with the quality of its teaching and therefore its graduates. But really what they are doing is being lazy and piggybacking onto all the filtering that has already taken place and then pretending its about something else. This is generally a feature of a loose labour market but we're unlikely to ever know anything else. In the UK the labour market just ever slightly for about six months tightened after Brexit, suddenly they were talking about having to do graduate recruitment events, even whispering about signing bonuses. So we had the Boris Wave and they brought three million young men in practically overnight. It just won't be tolerated and there is no point hoping otherwise.
