Any other northern New England anons this years sweet and crispy goodness? Pic related was the last apple dangling from a bare branch whose boughs benuded by the cold whisper softly in the rustle of falling foliage >Winter is coming Apples are sweet and delicious.
I'm eating an apple pie right now and I still have a few kilos of apples and grapes left. Feelsgoodman. I'm more fruitpilled than Steve Jobs.
>>544107101Any apple related political questions? OP is at your disposal.
>>544107101Nice apple. Looks delicious
>>544107101Shit I thought that was your cock. Now Im disappointed
>>544107276Do you guys have wild grapes over there? I grew up in the south, and though we had muscadines and scopedines, we didn't have these wild grapes. These things are absolutely amazing. They're the sweetest fruit I've ever taste. I've got about ten pounds so far, and there's easily another twenty pounds still on the vine. I'm thinking about making a sweet wild grape wine for Christmas. That would be really cool. You have no idea how sweet the raspberries are up here. Berries seem to like cold weather.
>>544107410Thanks, amigo. Check out my wild grapes. They would blow your mind. I've never had anything like this. They're EVERYWHERE out there. It's mind-blowing. It's like a wild vineyard.
>>544107466You need to get your mind out of the gutter. How about a view of the changing leaves from a cabin tucked in the side of a mountain? That's exactly what you need
>>544107276The Jewish freemasons fear the Romanian apple pie eater
>>544108250That looks like a kino comfy place to be, I like New England but wish many of the whites there weren't so self loathing.
>>544108026you mean these? yeah we have a bunch of wild versions of fruits, I ate one recently but I can't remember what it was. Anyway I like them a lot, my favorites are wild apples, google says they're called "european crab apples" in English, they're super tiny and sour and pretty common here. There's also a variety of red grape here that's very sweet called "capsunica" ("tiny strawberry" in Romanian) apparently and ironically from America, South Carolina not Europe. I'll post pics of those too.
>>544108026the wild apple I mentioned ("mar paduret" or "forest apple")
>>544108026and the grapes I mentioned, very sweet, low tannin and the skin can be removed easily
>>544108414Something is happening up here. I can't explain it, but it's very very positive. And yes, it is beautiful. That mountain is joined to a ski resort. There's a massive glacial lake at the base of it. It's all very lovely. All this and you can still be in downtown Boston in about 80 minutes. It's honestly pretty cool. I used to dream about maybe doing California. But I'm really starting to dig it up here. I honestly love the 4 seasons. I don't think we broke 90 degrees all summer. We barely broke 80 degrees in August a couple times. The whole month and on into September was nice cool, crisp evenings and balmy days in the 70s. Tomorrow I'm going to scout and mark some maple trees to tap in late winter. It's all so very kino. The self loathing folks are increasingly marginalized and most sensible people are starting to understand how kino it actually is and why it is so kino. It's this patchwork of charming villages and covered bridges and high trust communities. It's honestly pretty based.
>>544108567Yes! I got so many it's legit crazy. I'm eating them right now. They make me feel energized as well. They really do taste like candy.
>>544108602What do they taste like? Are they sweet? Blackberries and blueberries grow wild up here as well. We are on the border of red squirrel/grey squirrel boundary. I'm tempted to exterminate the grey squirrel because I definitely favor the red squirrel (officially squirrel of pol), but I guess they have a right to exist.
>>544108651Yeah, that looks like what I have. They're perfectly round, and each have two teardrop shaped seeds. Wild candy is what they should be called
>>544107101I need to get the fuck out of Texas. Climate change is turning this place into a fucking desert, nothing grows here except prickly pear.
>>544108100Checked. Man those are huge. I live in the city and have to purchase my grapes. In jelly
>>544109040Certain areas up here have that black soil like in Ukraine. Everything you sow in those places explodes out of the ground. When you see spring come to life in this area, your realize why they call it spring. The greens are so vibrant it's like they glow. Winter honestly isn't that bad. You actually look forward to it once you get a seasonal hobby. I will never forget the first time I drove by the lake and saw all the ice fishers. People up here like ice fishing more than the other kind. Snowmobiling is huge. I love to ski. I do a lot of it. I didn't even start until my mid 40s, and I got quite good at it in just a few years.
>>544109180I found them by accident. I was chopping down some trees that were blocking my view of the mountain. One of them got stuck on a vine. Then I started chopping up the vine with my kukuri. Then I suddenly see the entire tree festooned with SO many bunches of wild grapes it was gobsmacking. I was like wtf? Then I asked Google what they were. I was then able to rule out poisonous imposters. I can't believe my luck!
>>544107101Today in Germany - new wine, pumpkins, flammkuchen, Chestnuts peak living
>>544108100Let me guess, you chew them in your mouth and then poop them into the toilet.
>>544109508That's friggin amazing. I gotta say, that's an awe inspiring view. The Von Trapp family settled a little ways north of here because it reminded them so much of their home. I will, however, freely concede that our mountains pale in comparison to the Alps. I'm looking forward to skiing them some day. If my finances permit, I'm going to hit the slopes in the French Alps come spring.
>>544109701Lol.
>>544109508Now that I zoom in, that looks exactly like upper new England. That could easily be Maine.
I thought this was gonna be a troll thread where you click the thumbnail and it's actually the swollen head of your cock sticking out from under a blanket, but this is actually gayer.
>>544109874It's in the palatinate, yes, it looks very similar to new england or the blue ridge mountains
>>544108986>>544108807yeah that variety is very sweet, like candy, but not overly sweet. I've replaced fast food and snacks with fruits and they've given me a lot more energy plus they helped me lose some weight. They've got a lot more micronutrients than candy and snacks too >>544108940sour but less sweet and a lot denser than say a granny smith also a bit astringent like aronia/chokeberries which I like a lot. How annoying are grey squirrels? Are they a pest there? All I know about the red vs grey squirrel war is that UK map meme.
>>544110032Yes, and to a surprising degree. You should come for a visit. Stay away from the cities and you'll have a blast. Especially if you're into outdoor stuff. I think cities all over the world are now just a lost cause. It gets so peaceful and silent up here you can sink into oneness with nature. It's a peace that seeps deep into your bones. I've gotten to where I hate when driving through cities.
>>544109886I feel sorry for you, untermench. I honestly do pity you. But I am glad in seeing how people self identity so readily. You urchins betray yourselves so obviously and with such regularity it's like you're wearing a since cap or a jersey. Like, "here I am! Dont waste time on me. I'm not worth it."
>>544110441I feel the same way, i love living on the countryside, away from all the urban filth.....right behind my house are the woods, i captured baby lynxes on camera just a few days ago.....perhaps some day i'll drop by for a beer!
>>544110150These do have a very subtle sour to them, but it almost enhances the sweetness. And I do feel a nice energy. I did have a lot of coffee, but this is different.
>>544110601Check out the bear from a couple weeks ago. His mother used to bring him around, now he's running around with another juvenile male...like hooligans. This guy are my crippled rooster, Sam. He let me get really close.
>>544110817Fuck yeah, would love to have bears here, they lynxes have been reintroduced some years ago and they're thriving, the wolves are coming back too, apart from that our wilderness is pretty tame hah!
>>544110677Try aronia/chokeberries; they last an absurdly long time (weeks or even months unrefrigerated), and they're super sour and stringent but have lots of antioxidants, which gives you energy and helps with inflammation and fatigue. Something something flavonoids. Similar to olive oil. Just based off my medieval-tier knowledge of medicine, if they last that long without turning into mush, they're probably good for you.
>>544110986Bears are infinitely fascinating. They have such idiosyncratic and well defined personalities. They are also very clever charming in an almost oafish way. Like this bear (here running away when I got a bit too close one time), he and his buddy quickly developed a taste for chicken. And they developed a strategy where one would scare them and herd them into the paws of the other. It was good thinking, but bears generally aren't nimble enough to corral a chicken (unless it's crippled). You guys should also get some ground hogs. They are so funny to watch. The fat little waddling balls of fur are very territorial, and to see them fight over turf is hilarious. I love nature. Just watching it makes me so happy. The owls have been going crazy around here lately. They'll show up in a few hours. But yeah, you gotta get your bears back. They really are worth the price of a chicken here or there.
>>544107101my wife just made apple cobbler from local apples.its snowing heavy right now, should get a foot this weekend
>>544111774Where are you at? I'm looking forward to the snow, but I'm not ready quite yet. I need another month of no snow. I haven't even gotten my wood yet.
>>544111954northen rockiesi sent my grandmother flowers in hanover, MA today though
I've grown stuff in a greenhouse over summer and I'm still getting peppers and tomatoes from the plants because the weather is so mild. Couple of days ago I smoke-dried loads of birdseye chillis in an outdoor oven which also has a built in smoker, ground them up and put them in a salt shaker. A man and his bounteous harvest.
>>544112089I bet you guys have an amazing ski season this year. You're due. Last year was awful for you guys. I'm going to try to make it out to Colorado or Utah at least once.
