Amanda Leigh Fourez, from Catlin, Illinois, has been sentenced to 31 months in federal prison for commissioning and distributing videos depicting extreme violence and sexual abuse against monkeys. She pleaded guilty in April 2026 to distributing animal crush videos and conspiring with others to produce and share them.According to federal prosecutors, Fourez paid thousands of dollars for custom-made videos depicting baby and adult monkeys being burned, sexually tortured and having their genitals mutilated. She participated in private online groups dedicated to producing, purchasing and sharing the footage. US District Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand described the videos as shocking and violent, documenting the agonizing torture of helpless animals.Fourez also received three years of supervised release. The judge rejected her request for a reduced sentence, emphasizing the need to deter similar crimes. Another participant, Joseph Garrett Buckland of Pennsylvania, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy and is scheduled for sentencing on January 13 2027
