Because everyone in charge in Europe, no matter what country, is run by liberal people. Orders are small and basically just barely enough to keep the manufacturers operating.We could get 3-5x as much equipment for the same price if we standardized some designs. For example instead of making dozen different types of APCs we should standardize on few designs which every manufacturer could make under licence with some local variations.
