Neither does capitalism. Gen Z and younger literally have nothing to lose. All the assests and wealth are concentrated in boomers. We are going to find out the hard way how socialism fares.

McCarthyism in the 20th century really did a number on us. It was effectively a massive psyop which made economic left thought literally unthinkable by most Americans. The irony is that we came out of WWII with an extremely strong social state which created this new middle class and, so long as you ignore the fact that black Americans were still getting fucked by the country which formerly enslaved them, was the golden age of this country.

The long tail of McCarthyism really is the story of postwar America. By aggressively punishing economic-left thought, they established capitalism as natural, immanent, and real. In the American social fabric, it became phenomenologically speaking as light and dark. You don't question whether light or dark exist, you just orient your life around these physical forces. Americans largely see capitalism the same way.

As economic-left thought was eradicated, we saw the long slide from strong, universal welfare programs; low inequality (again, ignoring the pointless destitution of America's blacks); and massive infrastructure programs; to what we have today: economic and political rape of the many by and for the benefit of the extreme few.

Maybe things are shifting. We'll see.

The problem isnt capitalism, it's fuckface bosses that make working anywhere impossible. Even a 100 percent national socialist ethnostate won't work if the bosses are all evil assholes that constangly breathes down their employees' necks. I've been hurried by fuckface bosses my entire life and even been disrespected by young whippersnappers who have only worked a couple of weeks where i've worked and have thought they could boss me around. It's terrible and it is the most demoralizing and infuriating thing on planet earth. Disrespect like that ruins everything and then it doesn't matter what your political system is, if that's how your people behave.
>>
>>544130026
It's the people that's the problem, though. If everyone behave correctly, then any political system can work. If everyone turn into disrespectful assholes, then it doesn't matter what kind of political system you have. It's not like you can just be all like "national socialism!" Like it's some sort of magic trick that will immediately make a crappy shitty people immediately start behaving right and being nicer towards their own kind..

>give communism a chance!
But communism will make us all slaves of government and we’ll all be equally poor as shit.

Much of modern science and quality of life occurred under capitalism. Yes it struggles with equality but over time everyone gets to benefit.
>>
>>544132776
>Even a 100 percent national socialist ethnostate won't work if the bosses are all evil assholes that constangly breathes down their employees' necks
This is what labor unions are for, anon. The way the laws are written, you are supposed to be able to get together with your fellow employees and negotiate for better conditions with your bosses at every level. The sad part is that these laws are on the books and have been for a very long time. We just don't enforce them anymore. Collective bargaining and workers' rights are the literal pillars of socialism. Even beyond welfare and taxation, the core value proposition of socialism versus capitalism is giving workers more rights at the workplace. Capitalism took that from you.

it hasn't been that for a long time. We are basically living under communism they have just twisted it to make it seem like its not. All of the Capitalists get capital injection through the government indirectly through quantitively easing. None of them have been profitable for over 2 decades and they are "too big to fail". So they aren't really capitalists they are just a bunch of fucking losers. thats why everything is fucked up and burning down.

>>
>>544129900
the only cure for commies is a lead injection. but also when people say they hate capitalism what they're actually saying, whether they realize it or not, is that they hate the foreigners and jews who have abused and exploited unrestrained capitalism in their country to push them out of participating in the economy of their own nation, but the solution to these parasites is still the same as the one for commies.

Capitalism turned into "all money goes to boomers, sorry, not sorry".
Most people work to give more than half their income to boomer landlords going on weekly road trip vacations. Taxes exclusively fund boomer healthcare, cheap (and not always legal) labor for boomer business owners, and bailouts for their investments. Now the entire economy is old people pissing away money earned by the next 10 generations and telling everyone to work harder. It's disgusting and unsustainable.
>>
>>544130535
Capitalism priced me out of everything I enjoyed so boomer investments and assets can have unreasonable and extreme high prices. I don't exist so old people can have good times but you seem to think that is capitalism.

Capitalism only works if it's highly regulated otherwise it turns into monopolies and the socialization of adverse effects (e.g. just dumping pollutants into lakes/rivers/the air instead of disposing of them properly.) Any working capitalist system we had has been aggressively chipped away at since Reagan and has just turned into blatant cronyism at this point.

William Dudley Pelley, the father of American Fascism, wrote a whole book about fixing Capitalism back in the 1930s when its fatal flaw of wealth centralization first became apparent. Things have only gotten worse sense then but his idea would still work just fine - turn the country into a corporation in which the citizens own the shares. A co-op everyone literally collectively owns and is invested in. The only hurdles are the jews and the ultra wealthy. It's an intriguing book, because a lot of it sounds like commie garbage at first glance, but is actually the opposite. You'd literally be turning everyone into capitalists while also fucking the commies over by delivering on the promises they never can.

The book is titled No More Hunger, picrel is half a chapter, and he published a second book addressing the only real issue in his plan (state's rights being maintained) named "Something Better" in the 60s. If you actually care about fixing capitalism and don't just want to jump on either the "It's based fuck off" or "it's shit, class war now" trains, it's definitely worth reading into.

I think they just like to be able to choose to be wasteful or unhealthy or dangerous or whatever. The shitskins from the 3rd world can't stand this because there are people who have to drink the same water that they take a shit in. And they don't understand how 1 American spends more in 1 day that they spend in 6 months on basic things like food, shelter and cleanliness. It angers them and they want to bring America down to the same level of despair and shit that they are used to.

So people who are too young to know the Cold War era or life pre-9/11 or even life pre-social media and internet. Yeah, that's a really well-informed crowd. I wouldn't put much emphasis on their opinions or cater to them until they've matured more. Anyway, maybe "AI" will upend everything soon enough.
>>
>>544133865
What to do about lazy people who dont give a shit about the system or shares?
>>
>>544129900
The government has constrained capitalism so much that it is quite difficult to flourish individually.
This point has to be made clear by politicians.
The systematic suppression of housing growth by municipalities plays a big part in making life miserable for young adults.
>>
>>544129900
Basically, it's social contagion. You get some popular people in social media and celebrities to say ""CAPITALISM BAD" and it influences others into parroting the viewpoint. A lot of gen Z outsource their thinking to others. Ideas are given to them.
>>
>>544133993
Supply them with a place to live, food to eat, and medical care so they can get back on their feet.
>>
>>544129900
The guys at the top would have to dial back the greed. Fortunately for us that'll never happen and they'll eventually be slaughtered in the streets.

Murdered with the biggest, tallest line... what a way to go!
>>
>>544133993
Let me put it another way. What you call "laziness" is actually economic behavior. People who don't want to work, if you strip the moral language, find the compensation insufficient compared to what it costs them to provide labor. It's just business.

This is the old dichotomy: when firms make hiring or firing decisions, that's just business; when workers make decisions about providing labor, that's selfishness or laziness or whatever. It's a double-standard.

I wouldn't worry too much about "lazy" people. If anything, it'll raise your value as an employee. Your service as a provider of solid, reliable labor becomes more valuable when firms lack it.
>>
>>544130026
This. Present false alternatives like national or European socialism, capitalism, communism, then let the cattle decide the name for the power elites that extract from their lives to live in parasitic luxury.
>>
>>544134185
The problem is that we are not living in the fucking 50s anymore. "The guys at the top" are the drivers of innovation because innovation these days needs exorbitant amounts of money. Sometimes start ups break through, but to get to the top it's no longer enough to open a fried chicken restaurant. To develope new technology you need the capital to do so. Where does the capital come from? From people who already have it. Nobody is going to be starlink in their basement, you need a giant fuck ass company that can launch satelites into orbit, you need a team that can sell shit globally. It leads to the shit we have now, you say it's because the people on top are greedy, but it's actually because they have the money needed to hire enough people / create shit that is needed to drive innovation.
>>
>>544129900
>Unironically how do you fix this?

Deport the cheap labor, eliminate all taxes on the working class, and adjust the corporate tax code to encourage giving your citizens good jobs.

The labor market is fucked because government open border policies created a glut of cheap labor and subsidized it by allowing foreign migrants to get government benefits. Destroy the government system that's stagnated wages for decades and we'll start getting decent jobs again.
>>
>>544129900
You end all gibs, which are being funded by the current system.
>>
>>544129900
The normal way to fix it is to permit the natural and healthy inheritance of familial wealth. Unfortunately boomers are evil and hoarding their second-hand jew gold so it won't change. I can't wait for these antifa faggots to drag boomers out into the streets, I may even catch myself applauding the Proletariat.
>>
>>544134091
>The systematic suppression of housing growth by municipalities plays a big part in making life miserable for young adults.
Americans have no clue how bad it becomes at higher density. In Yuropa, they incarcerate you for trying to build outside socialist, government managed human cattle farms. It is the number one policy, and now that AI bros take all the land for their robot factories with freshly printed mountains of funny money, people are barred from human existence forever.

Why do you all think the Trump klan wants Canada and Greenland so badly? They feign Sovjet wargames, but they want Lebensraum for the machines.
>>
>>544134292
>but to get to the top it's no longer enough to open a fried chicken restaurant
Exactly. And the "you gotta have money to make money" setup means the ladder is already raised. Mobility is low, suffering is high, and for it we're... killing people in Iran and blowing up rockets trying to get to mars to satisfy the microdick dreams of a bullied billionaire in a midlife crisis.

This to me is not a strong argument in favor of capitalism. It's addutionally undermined by the fact that finance is supposed to efficiently produce socially beneficial companies -- firms whose existence improves the lives of everyone. This isn't happening, is it?

Yes, yes, I know -- it'll trickle down eventually. I don't want to wait another 45 years for the trickling to start. I don't think it's going to.
