How exactly is redistribution of wealth not a moral imperative? If we take just elon musk as an example, his wealth alone could be used to sort out the financial problems of millions of people. So how exactly is it OK to just leave it sitting on a bank account somewhere to accumulate interest? The well being of a million people is about a million times more important than just one guy being obscenely rich. How then are we not morally obligated to redistribute his wealth?>b-but you didn't work for it! Elon didn't work to earn any of it either, the thousands of people working in his companies did.

Which further justifies their own secretly oppresive positions."redistribution of wealth" is a slogan for faggots with no financial literacy. Its just bullshit to make you angry.Just abandon the wealth systems completley instead of engaging with them with agressive words while you pay sales tax on mcdonalds and work your dead end job

>>544150315Wealth inequality is not a moral bad in and of itself, it's the side effects of it which are. Moneyed capture of the political system, having other people live in material deprivation as a result, and so on. If you could somehow construct a system where one person had 99% of the money, but everyone else was comfortably provided for and the institutions remained dedicated to serving the common good, that wouldn't be a problem. The question is what level of wealth inequality can you have before it becomes unavoidable that it produces such toxic conditions, and how do you design institutions that can prevent it from reaching that point and / or start redistributing wealth once it does. Liberal "democratic" capitalism in the contemporary western model is obviously not the answer
