The main reason why foreign truck drivers, including indians, cause so many crashes in the US is due to the US using the strange old school conventional trucks. Normal Trucks outside the US are cabover trucks that are much easier to maneuver.

For 1 speaking and reading English so you can know the laws is a problem with foreign people.
# 2 . Responsibly, most foreign people don't understand responsibility
#3 their already doing something illegal by being an illegal alien, so they have no civil sense.
#4 they lack empathy and only care about themselves and money, making them dangerous.
# 5 foreign business owners don't fix their equipment. Why fix it they aren't to blame.
# 6 they hate Americans, and only want money to send back to their country.

Long hauls exist in Europe as well - continental Europe's landmass is actually slightly larger than the USA's.
And cabover designs come in different sizes, also with variants that have extended rear compartments - many big enough for a proper full-size matrass bed, rather than a small bunk-sized one.

Cabovers are used so that drivers can have a better field of view of pedestrians and also to comply with total maximum lengths.
And American truckers used cabovers in the 1970s without driving like Indians.
Poles have been driving non-cab overs in Canada for decades and they don’t drive like Indians. Look at how Indians drive in India. Look at how Poles drive in Europe.
Kys for defending ugly tiny dicked smol-brained shit-eating pajeets.
>>
>>544157166
OP you have just came up with a good reason for foreign truck drivers to leave. You are a patriot!
>>
>>544157427
Their primary weakness is that they have less space for the driver to live inside the truck and the maintenance can be more challenging. The primary advantage is increased fuel efficiency and cargo capacity and handling. US trucks have huge cabs because US vehicle length regulations count the cab length separately from the vehicle so having a massive nose and extended cab doesn't penalize you so directly in your cargo sections. European trucks, and I really shouldn't say European because everyone uses this design are simply more technologically advanced than US trucks which live mostly as a result of protectionism.
>>
>>544157427
Weakness: You have to clean up things in the cab before you can tip the cab forward to work on the engine. There is also more engine noise/vibration when you're sitting right on top of the engine than if you put it out front. Also... If you get involved in a crash there is nothing in front of you.

But... They maneuver better in tight spaces and have better front visibility. (Otherwise, I see no other advantages to the cabover design.)

US Cabover Trucks used to look like this.
>>
Half the trucks you see in the US are really motorhomes too. Europe is so small that you don't often have truckers making multi-thousand-mile trips. I would wager almost all truckers in the EU are home for supper. Most US truckers are "over the road" ie they live in their truck for maybe a week, then have like a five day "weekend" off.

Pic related is actually a typical US truck.

I recently heard how this trucker was parked in the high desert of Oregon for the night. As he was laying in bed, he heard these taps on the side of his cabin. At first it was only light taps, like someone knocking right outside.
He rolled down his windows and looked.
Nothing. He couldnt see anyone.
He would go back to bed and the tapping would start again.
So he looked outside again and still nothing. No one to be seen.
Went back to bed and after a few minutes the tapping started again.
This time he just ignored it but after a few minutes of ignoring it, he said it sounded like some big guy was running repeatedly into the side of his truck.

He noped the fuck out of there so fast. Started his truck and watched his side mirror while he was taking off and he could clearly see how something was banging on the side of his truck while he was driving off. He saw the trailer shake and heard the bangs but whatever was doing the banging was completely invisible.

There's weird shit out there.

>There is also more engine noise/vibration when you're sitting right on top of the engine than if you put it out front.
perhaps that is the case for the older type of American cabovers, but Euro trucks are very quiet inside and the whole cab is on air suspension so vibration is not an issue either.
>>
>>544159528
>There is also more engine noise/vibration when you're sitting right on top of the engine than if you put it out front.
That was true with old school 'murrican cab overs. Modern European and Asian cab overs have better noise and vibration insulation than Burger trucks with conventional cabs.
>Also... If you get involved in a crash there is nothing in front of you.
Aside from way more strict crash safety regulations, far better braking systems, airbags and better visibility to avoid crashing in the first place. Majority of US trucks are same as thirty years ago with more aerodynamic bodywork and engines complying with newer pollution regulations.

Everything about American trucking is about lowest bidder. Mercedes, Volvo and Volkswagen are pretty big on US market as well and what they offer in US is generally just cheaper trucks and top end of engine offerings being what would considered mid range in Europe. Engine parts of engineering in their US subsidiaries basically just do minor adaptations to their low end and mid range engines to comply with US regulations.

>>544159618
Both Volvo and Scania have had big sleeper prototypes for couple decades, there hasn't been enough market interest to make it happen so far. Because that would reduce effective cargo space. They are probably reheating old offerings because truck size limitations might get more relaxed in Europe.
