I have never served, so i don’t actually know
Question aimed mostly at prior service anons who were in combat recently
>>
>>544178042
They let women be officers and open fags be part of their shit
They lower standards constantly for women
You cannot hurt nigger feelings or they call you an extremist
So no. Sergeant Shaniqua makes you sing march songs about Martin Luther king.
>>
>>544178042
no
t. former us army infantryman
>>
>>544178042
No, there's only one thing you concern yourself with serving, and that's your own records for as many possible later disability claims.
>>
>>544178097
>They let women be officers and open fags be part of their shit
Hey that's how I got my initial 50% disability rating claiming PTSD from being raped in the ass, and just being too ashamed to tell anyone.
>>
>>544178110
What was that like?
>>
>>544178042
The military is always training for the last war.

mostly boring. you do a lot of rote memorization that is ultimately useless in an actual combat environment. its cliquey and often a popularity contest when it comes to promotions and career opportunities. your equipment will always be out of date unless you are in a unit that falls under SOCOM. the infantry is full of white people and spics and all your paperwork and food is handled by niggers who are lazy as fuck. at least i got to spend part of my career in japan.
>>
>>544178042
That depends on which MOS you're signing up for, whether or not you take the training seriously, and if you're built for it to any degree to begin with.
I'd say it adequately prepares you for the real learning process that happens when you're deployed to the fleet and take your first steps outside of the wire. However, you aren't going to be outclassing anyone, you're still essentially a fucking retard who has years crucial of experience left to gain before you're truly and meaningfully functional.
>>
>>544178382
At least it toughened you up I’m guessing
Time at the range too?

>>544178417
Years? I guess that makes sense
I always assumed that those who survived combat learn fast
>>
>>544178608
>At least it toughened you up I’m guessing
i left the military in worse shape than i joined it, but i got really good at walking long distances with a heavy backpack.
>Time at the range too?
lol. lmao even.
>>
>>544178684
how long were you in/how many practice rounds did you actually get to fire?
>>
>>544178684
Ah man
Sorry. It’s all good though, you live in a country where people are obligated to respect your service though. You’re likely a better shot than I am btw lol
>>
>>544178042
I was never in combat. Some other things happened that I cannot disclose, but I can talk about training. I went to Navy and Army basic. Contrary to popular belief, Army basic was a joke compared to Navy. Nether were difficult, but the Navy took it a lot more serious. You get more done in 7 weeks than the Army gets done in 12. Yes, Army is technically 10, but you have 2 weeks of in-processing that’s just a lot of administrative bullshit. In the Navy it’s called P days and it’s part of basic. When I went through Army basic at Fort lost in the woods, you’re supposed to pt 3-4 times a week. After the first week, we ran maybe 2 other times plus a mandatory run for the colonel or whatever. I was 196 when I got there and 206 when I left and I didn’t put on muscle. We were told to just do pushups before bed so we would pass our pt test. We spent most of our time cleaning our rifles waiting for the next thing to do. The drill sergeants were lazy. It was mostly a humiliation ritual plus administrative bullshit. The hardest part is dealing with boots that don’t fit well. When I got to my unit…I discovered that the Army doesn’t really renovate. They just throw bodies at a problem. For example; you have a readiness rating and every Battalion Commander’s job is to have a high readiness rating… it’s a bunch of bullshit they put into a graph that tells big wigs if they go to war they’ll win based on statistical data. It’s load bullshit and their testing methodology is flawed. But I bring this up to bring up how they handle weapons qualifications. Having a lot of people qualified increases readiness, so how do they achieve this? They don’t. The just send people to the range. It’s the same people every 2 weeks. They’re supposed to have qualified instructors that can instruct people on how to shoot, they don’t. They just send people there to shoot the M4, pistol, grenade launcher, M240, etc with little to no instruction.

Two US faggots tried to commit suicide after 3 months on the job. Modern soldiers are pussies.
>>
>>544178734
7 years, and probably tens of thousands, but having shot tens of thousands of rounds doesn't really transfer to skilled marksmanship. i spent 3 years as a 50 cal gunner on a stryker so shooting thousands of rounds during a gunnery range was basically guaranteed, and then most of my dismounted career was as a 240 gunner.
>>544178749
i consider myself an okay but not great shot. we did a lot of urban operations, not distance shooting, and almost all of my dismounted operations experience was as a 240 gunner until i became an instructor at ft. benning at the tail end of my career, which had me barely shooting, i was instead teaching how to use heavy weapon systems like the m2 and mk19 to new recruits.

>We didn't run at all
Where the fuck did you go to Basic? Running was pretty much the only thing we DID do.
I was at Jackson.
>>
>>544178608
>those who survived combat learn fast
Mostly they're just good at following directions. The ones who learn fast end up leading and get those who can't killed more often than not. It's a vicious cycle. Combat is ever-evolving, if you're not operator-tier and in a position to be an operator, you're not supplied, trained, and built to last by those in charge of you.
>>
Continued:
So you always get people that have no idea what they’re doing that fail the qualification or worse. When I was in Korea someone shot their finger off with the grenade launcher because he put his finger over the tube. Another guy opened the dust cover on the m240 after a hangfire and it blew up in his face. I think the guy lost an eye. That was my buddy’s unit. Colonel MacGregor probably has the best read on the situation regarding military analyst. It really is impossible to describe how fucked it is without actually being there.
>>
>>544179034
Nobody I was with read any of that shit. It was just one big clusterfuck while everyone with applicable skill waited for their service to be up so they could apply to become a contractor instead.
>>
>>544179068
Lost in the woods ==*leonard wood. It was a joke dude. I heard Jackson is more serious. We had a really shit company dude.

>prepare soldiers for war efficiently
Efficient in what way? Zigger 2 week training is efficient. 1 week training would be even more efficient.
>>
>>544178903
>The just send people to the range
surprised they would even do that, at my unit we just pencil whipped qualifications. its not like we could afford the ammo to keep sending people to the range, we had to spend it all on keeping our strykers running.
>>
>>544179187
Yeah never mind I sympathize
Everywhere is a different kind of fucked up
I heard the Marines burned down part of Joint Base Pensacola because they had a drug cook there and someone left their hot plate on top long
Speaking of hot plates
In several of the barracks at different posts they're illegal to use because they're a fire hazard but the sergeants explicitly told us that as long as we don't have them lying around for inspection we're fine
I don't see why people say the Air Force has the best food in the military I liked Navy chow better

>i left the military in worse shape than i joined it, but i got really good at walking long distances with a heavy backpack.
rucking did wonders for your body just because you arent cut and look good in lighting doesnt mean you didnt get stronger retard
want to look "strong" literally just starve yourself
>>
Benning sucked dick I wanted to die and eventually one day I stopped being a bitch
>>
>>544179484
i was being a bit facetious. i left the military because i was crippled in a training accident that resulted in permanent nerve damage. so no matter what, i left the military in significantly worse shape and much weaker than when i joined it.
>>
>>544179613
oh okay fair enough. rucking is my favorite exercise so i got offended.
>>
>>544179381
My point is the command doesn’t really take is serious. I was talking to a CW2 when the Ukraine war started. This was actually one of the guys I liked. But he was so delusional that he thought we were just going to sell or write off all our shit to Ukraine, then get new stuff. It’s a real thing even in the officer core where they actually think we just have magic weapons on standby that could dominate any opponent. They don’t understand profit margins or anything. Once you get to a certain rank and you’re responsible for contracts, they understand how to make money, but they don’t actually understand that we’re spending a shit ton of money on designer missiles.
>>
>>544179665
i get you, it was mine too. i still have a goruck pack and plate from when i was in the army because i was that psycho in my platoon who would ruck for fun on the weekend and bring my soldiers on promask rucks as punishment when they were in trouble.
>>
>>544178042
No. You have to train the golem from childhood to become a good killer for Israel.
>>
>>544179613
Did you ever meet any psychos who threatened politicians or public officials?
>>
>>544178042

I can't speak for third world poors like the eurocucks, but the American military has some top notch education to prep troops for every field under the military umbrella.
You take a look at those field manuals one day and you will learn some shit that will make you a higher quality tier civilian.

Obviously that's not the case for everyone. You have no idea what kind of retards arrive at boot camp. Plenty yeehaws that have the strategic depth of a tic-tac-toe game. Those are the ones that get ventilated a few days into any campaign. But for anyone that wants to excel as a soldier and a human being, there are no finer manuals than the FMs that the U.S Army provides free of charge.

>>544178042
Veteran here. I would say nothing would prepare you mentally, actually. I think the practice is the act itself. But who knows. I have never even gotten into a firefight myself due to serving in peace years (canada left afghan before i joined)
>>
>>544178042
No it makes them faggots. Have you seen the current military? It’s all brown retards that aren’t even citizens.
>>
>>544178042
No, its mostly just tradition. It probably has some value as "hazing," since it makes some people really attached to the military identity by putting them through trials, by the actual training that matters could be completed in an afternoon. The physical fitness aspect is very easy and a meme, most children could complete it.
>>
>>544178042
For modern war? Not really, although I'm not from US I have an idea what some of them are doing.

>>544181713
Education is reserved mostly for officer roles. Most roles below that get like 24 weeks of education depending on role (some a bit more if it involves a more specialized skill set). Also some roles are just going to destroy your life e.g. needing to work with coatings of armored vehicles or jets. A lot of the civie roles (sometimes also military roles) that are involved in production of armaments have also such problems. Just destroys your lifespan, not worth doing.
>>
>>544181530
if you are asking if i ever met anyone in the military who said they wanted to kill a politician or blow up a federal building, the answer is yes. i probably said many things along those lines myself. if you are asking if i ever met anyone who actually would have followed through on it, probably not. at least i can't think of anyone i served with who i think would actually go full domestic terrorist off the top of my head.
