From the reactions of people around me I assumed my reaction was uncommon.
I remember these Roma gypsies coming here in the 90s, and they would be just shamelessly begging at entrances all day. Initially they got some sympathy from genuinely compassionate older people that assumed they must be homeless or going through something.But then you see a brand new black Mercedes show up and collect them at 5.30pm, like it's a job and they tried various things, like not just driving up to the women in front of everyone, the woman would go out back to a car park to be collected instead. But the word had got out around town.They then tried to use young children as props to get money, that worked for a while although my own mother and grandmother began to suspect maybe they drug the children because when they were going about their business they just saw the babies asleep all the time.They used to sell that magazine "Big Issue" but they were so pushy and basically harassing people in the street for long enough with that was put to a stop (because of these pushy gypsies destroying their brand).People assumed that it would just be dealt with but it never was. They were tolerated the same way you tolerate piles or a mole.Decades later, I don't even recognize my town now. It's a soup of various shitskins that are clearly asylum scammers.
