Post /toy/s that you personally find based in some way or positive to have growing up. (Non detrimental) It has no be based. Hard mode: no electronics. Just curious to see what you guys had, wish you had, or if you had a family what you would give them. My dad got me a lot of knight and castle stuff growing up which I’m happy about because it indirectly got me thinking about certain concepts like loyalty, conflict, willpower, duty, etc. and also gave me an early appreciation for the aesthetics and craftsmanship of those times. The armor, castles, weapons, etc.
>>544227778I wonder what happened to mone...
>>544227778I got this when I was 9. Redpilled me on women being useless holes.
>>544227778Toys were for sissies. Real boys done a hard day's work.
>>544227778Did you ever play the flash game of this?
>>544227778I would make goku and vegeta defend that castle from ugly ass freaks. Good times!
I had one of those and loved it, I remember some of the knights had gold armor and some had black, and there was a canon with a big ball. I went back to church recently and it's all old people, I'm old enough to have played with this toy as a kid and I'm the youngest person there. But there is still a Sunday school room and all the toys are from the 90s and earlier, and they have one of these castles in great shape. Sad there are no kids to play with it
>>544227778I had the castle and the pirate ship as a kid. Best toys ever made.
boys yearn to be scallywags
>>544228170Lego peak in the 90s/early 2000s
>>544227778War Planets. The tv show is also kino.
>>544228075Small churches are usually older people because their kids didn't attend so there's no next generation there. Boomers weren't exactly model parents.Megachurches are where people who can afford children go.
90s toys were peak.
Mint condition Castle Grayskulls sell for over $500 on eBay today
I still have this one stuffed away somewhere.
>>544227924My ex/former roommate was sex "toy" obsessed. She collected hundreds of dildos and vibrators before we dated.I threw them all away. After we broke up, she collected hundreds more. She collected new and used ones.It was fucking disgusting. The entire time we were together I always felt disposable because she never acted like she would be devastated if I left her or if our relationship ended. I kept thinking I was nothing more than a sex toy to her.She was kind and helpful and a lot of fun, but she made me feel as if I didn't really matter and that she'd just replace me easily. It turned out I was right.
>I want a board game that takes 4 hours to finish on a good dayBet.
>>544228078I had the castle and pirate ship too. I remember being disappointed that the ship just fell over and sank in my parents' pool lol. I also had the cowboy/old west town. That was probably my favorite desu.
>>544227778This shit was kino. When I got bored of those I'd make more powerful ones out of bamboo canes and string and fire dowling rods with them after putting them through a pencil sharpener. Riddled the shed door with them one time. Got in a lot of shit for that, worth it though. Good times.
When I got to middle school my dad bought me one of these. I think I used it every single day after school, "patrolling" my yard like I was a sentry from Ghost Recon or something lol.
>>544227778My dad bought me this plastic whistle as a kid. It's shaped like a Totem Pole. I remember the store he bought it at had them on the counter next to the cash register. They were sold as a "Tootem' Poles".
>>544227778Mine had a little cannon

Do newfags not know there are dedicated boards for these sort of things?
>>544231205I know... fiddly as fuck to pull the wee lever on the end back when they were in the ship though, I seem to remember it interfered with the canon on the other side much to my autistic dismay.
>>544231560bionicle were sick, but I hate how they memoryholed slizer/throwbots
>>544231461Fuck yeah, the toy where the box art was always miles better than the actual product.

>>544228371I mightve had that exact set as a kid, or something very close. Yes, it was kino and I'm an licensed engineer now partly thanks to it
>>544231697: (
>>544227778Here's a modern toy, but I think it's brilliant. It's basically an audiobook player for kids.My 3-year-old listens to a ton of audiobooks. These things are easy for kids his age to use, and work well with pirated books. The latest version (gen 4) is a downgrade though.
MASK. i had a few of these as a kid. forgot all about them until last week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2Z1yLO9C-Q
NOSTALGIA TIME
>>544227778green soldier men. I had more of the green ones so the good guys were always the grey soldiers cuz there were more to kill, and it made me think to find creative ways of taking on all odds.
>>544231697kek. i discovered as a kid that the only way to play with gi joes was to forgo the weapons and the vehicles and instead was to use said vehicles as a backdrop for street fighter style royal rumbles. i would lay on my stomach and simply have martial art style 1v1 fistfights with them.flips, kicks, and body slams. each joe had his own signature moves. great fun! i still have my old joes and basically do the same thing with my sons. they love it.
>>544227778I still had the black knight with the flail until very recently. It might actually be in one of my junk boxes.
>>544231926this is a real one because theres no way in current year disney or almost any globohomocorp would allow a game to be released where you played as and sympathized with the space nazis
>>544231973and it was never about numbers. Sadly this is what got my ass kicked in school by packs of nigs and sandnigs and thugs into adulthood
>>544231890i still have the big rig truck
>>544229548Nice I had the same one. Grampa got it for me when I was like 10. Receiver finally split a few years ago.
>>544232010These things are fun at playgroup etc, but at home balance bikes are still the king.
>>544227778I remember flying these autistic things around the school yard and having dogfights with my friends.
>>544227778Im 43 and I got this for my 13th bday--yeah, I was still into toys. Still am. Fantastic set.
>>544231973I still have all mine. I gave them to my son since they are pretty hard to come by now. I even have a large C130 Hercules to carry them all in. It was hilarious building sand castles with him on the beach and setting up all the little men then we would take turns destroying the fortifications with rocks. The looks of absolute disgust by the childless shitlibs on the beach were hilarious and worth it.
A GUN, no safety orange tipJust a Gun with the crotch piece as the trigger.
>>544227778I grew up with a bunch of Fisher-Price toys, including the castle. Also the airport, the hospital, the school, some houses, the little town that had a post office and a jail, a boat, a parking garage. (I had a bunch of siblings, so it's not like it was all just mine.) Once or twice we actually put them all out in the living room at the same time and made like a little Fisher-Price kingdom, it was awesome.
>>544229051>4 hours to finishThat's nothing.
>>544231697That looks awesome, but not very practical. What is it supposed to be?
>>544228075Congrats, the fbi now knows youre between 30-45, a White male, and above average education/income
>>544232152If we’re not talking about bikes, skateboards, and surfboards; I like the magnet tiles and eichhorn constructors.
These things were works of art.

>>544229051I played the shit out of this with my bros
>>544232214Same
>>544229014>dear diaryFuck off to reddit.
my dad got me a NIGGER for my 9th birthday and I made him clean my room
Legos are the GOAT. Shame theyre overpriced as shit now that theyre catering to reddit normalfags who just want to follow directions and build licenseslop statues
>>544233966METAL GEAR!?!
Looking back, I wonder if middle school me spending my pocket money on about 15 ft^3 of ikea cabinets and spending hours sorting and re-sorting my legos ever made my parents tempted to get me tested for 'tism.
>>544234245Youre goddamn right
>>544227778BasedMy friend had that, I didn’t but I had a lot of Lego including castle Lego.
For me it was playing with my uncles medieval and random Legos from the 80s that my grandparents kept at their house, K'nex, and I remember getting a bionicle for my birthday from a kid who lived a few doors down. But mainly knex, I spent most of my childhood messing around with it. Also meccano, but not as much as k'nexPicrel: spent countless hours messing around with this, also had two boxes full
>>544227778I was so jealous of my friend Cody. He got the castle and the pirate ship. All I got was molested.
>>544231434I have this and the box still as well
>>544231890Aw man, I had that orange racecar and the purple bike with the sidecar. Those things were awesome.
>>544234574knex were definitely a vibe. Everything was way more abstract and mechanical looking than lego, but you could make much larger things with knex easilyWhen I was a kid I would combine legos and knex. Legos for small detailed areas and cars/ships/whatever and knex for large fortresses
>>544232010One time, as a kid, I took the door off of one of these things and a black widow spider crawled out of the hole where the peg was. Never touched it again.
had a lot of fun with this bad boy back in the day
>>544232010>had one of these as a kid>have fat friend over>we're riding it down the hill in my backyard over and over>me and my brother do this constantly, no problem>fat friend goes down>FALLS APART under him halfway down the hill>goes rolling down the rest of the wayfuck you Matt you wrecked my cozy coup
>>544227778Seconding the castle. Soon I will pass it on to my son.
This was the only toy that kept me safe from my much older brother. I would fill it up and leave it in the backyard to heat up the water boiling hot in the aussie sun and then shoot him when he got in range for pre-emptive self defence. In the end I got dunked too many times in the swimming pool and prob have brain damage. The end
>>544227778Now shrink me down to an inch high so I can live in it.
>>544231434A videogame with this exact aesthetic would be fucking cool, and you could play online woth other people fighting of course in multiplayer battles. With today’s powerful computers there isnt any reason why you couldn’t have massive battles where each brick of the castle can actually fall off and be damaged in real time. Gameplay>graphics
>>544234772Based grandpas handed out $10 and let you buy whatever you wanted.>don’t tell your mother
>>544231736The admins should just delete all the other boards at this point because outside of the big three (b, v, and pol) there is almost no traffic.

>>544233966>>544234412I learned recently that 3rd party stuff is getting really high quality. Especially the minifigs. If Lego is going to lose their way I’m just going to get fan made stuff and only buy old sets if I get lego products

>>544227778I had a castle my dad made out of packing crates, then we built an epic one together out of flyscreen wire and plaster.I made the best one for my son, I built a dungeon underneath the castle (lift off castle top) and that got played with more than the actual castle.
