Given recent events the US arms export industry is basically dead going forward.While this provides a lot of opportunity for everyone else, a major part of procurement lies in capital risk. Building an aircraft carrier is one thing, finding someone to underwrite the construction of an aircraft carrier so the people making it don't go bust is another one. This is a sensible and decisive move away from US manufacturing.
