First off, a lot of homelessness is invisible. Name homeless people aren't on the streets, but instead are couch surfing. They either can't translate well into formal work due to a lack of a permanent address, or they are working and not making enough to pay rent.The people who are on the street, meanwhile, often have drug problems that need to be addressed. Just giving them a job won't fix that, as the drugs may cause them to lose said job. Also, giving everyone the same job (i.e. door dash driver) will just oversaturate it until no one can get enough deliveries to pay for their rent.
