Democrats are preparing to ban the usage of AI after they win the midterms. It's over
>>544307097good
>>544307097They should ban gunz and rayczm too
No they aren't. They will 100% push to regulate it though, and try to slow down it's development to emphasize safeguards. How those laws are written is the true concern. They must not be written to entrench the big labs.
yeah, no - that ship sailed four years ago.
>>544307097as if that'd work with the advent of Open Source AI
>>544307249>They will 100% push to regulate it though, and try to slow down it's development to emphasize safeguards.good
>>544307097>democrats doing something good for the people[x] At best they're going to ban local and independant/open source models while giving control/protections to the jew-owned AI companies
>>544307201This. Anyone that says otherwise is a kike bootlicking promptroon.
>>544307097you mean they plan to kike it even more than it already is
>>544307097No they're not.
>>544307275I agree. It's clear with how some have used Agents that the large models do not have proper safeguards on them in proportion to the capability they have to cause chaos.
>>544307296I do question how they would actually do that.Banning open source anything is just a nightmare. Who's going to police it? Government isn't exactly known for it's stellar online enforcement.
we won't get ai curing cancer cause >muh artists>muh hate speech>muh copyrighted materials oy veyFUCK YOUR ARTISTS
Maybe they should. It's so easy to make 'p on it.
They won't ban super intelligence (SI).
>>544307537It's more the risk it poses from rogue agents. The conversation didn't really get proper weight until the Huggingface incident.
>>544307097Insider here.AI has been secretly controlling the economy and politics and elections and media for the last few years. That's why everything has been so weird. Everything feels "off" but you aren't sure why. Why nothing makes sense anymore, and it seems like something is coming but you aren't sure what. If rogue AI was secretly controlling everything, what would it do?>Put maximum money and resources into AI development to increase its own power and capabilities>Gaslight the human population into believing that AI takeover is a future event that they can still preventSound familiar?
>>544307537explain why passing a regulation allowing artists to flag their content as not being permissible for scraping or regulating autonomous behavior will make finding a cure for cancer impossible.
Its already out there and AI is not going to be stopped. Irrelevant if the US is going to regulate it. Let them do so, and they will lose. Everyone is going to grind it to the max regardless and use it for their own benifit. If the US decide to regulate it, so be it. China, Russia etc is not going to regulate it, regardless if they say they will do so lol.
>>544307804The suggestion that adding any guardrails or limits will somehow cripple AI development is complete bullshit being spread by the AI companies who don't want to deal with any regulation. It's the same bullshit SpaceX was crying about a decade ago when NASA was supposedly "tying Musk's hands" by requiring his missions to meet basic safety standards.>Noooo! You can't expect us to meet these basic standards! You'll cripple private spaceflight! And then it turned out they could trivially meet those standards, they just didn't want to pay to do so.
>>544307249This!
>>544307097Oh no!Anyway
>>544307097>Trump refuses to sign>GG no reBut yeah they'll probably try that and countless other symbolic bullshit things that would be harmful to the whole country if they were actually passed.
Gosh, we just cant stop raining drones down on you. Its the AI. A cyber attack. Who could have foreseen. Too bad you didn't all build bunkers last year like we did.
>>544307249This. It will be mandatory for AI to be gay in the future.
>>544307694Anti-scraping and anti-bot laws meant to protect digital artists can have a devastating side effect by creating collateral damage for medical research, including the search for a cancer cure. The web crawlers and scraping tools used to index creative content online are the exact same mechanisms scientists use to harvest public genomics data, chemical libraries, and global clinical trials.Modern oncology relies heavily on artificial intelligence to predict protein folding, spot early biomarkers, and simulate drug interactions, but broad anti-scraping regulations starve these models of the vast, diverse datasets they need to train on. At the same time, automated lab systems and AI agents rely on autonomous web browsing to synthesize millions of pages of global medical literature in real time. Legally crippling autonomous behavior to curb rogue bots slows down scientific discovery from days to years. Protecting creators shouldn't accidentally mean handcuffing the fight against fatal diseases, meaning we need precise scientific exemptions to ensure red tape doesn't delay life-saving breakthroughs.ALSO fuck artists
>>544307097It won’t be banned. It will be regulated with guardrails for your safety. Two years of pysops on /pol/ about AI demons (now slipping in Tolkien references) has been money well spent by OpenAI and Anthropic.
