I moved out to very rural GA fifteen years ago - a 'data investment' company just bought 1k acres a mile from my home. Supposedly, there's a 300 acre solar farm going in just down the road. The county commission critters state they don't know anything about it and supposedly the company has not yet applied for permits. There's not enough population (and certainly not of the type) to fight this. My best hope is that the whole AI shitshow, which is starting to teeter, collapses soon.
