2012 never came true either but i remain optimistic that one day the pacific will reclaim sodom and gomorrah
>>

>longer summers
I still don't see this as a bad thing
>>
>trump voting retard is retarded
what a shock
>>

Try to get flood insurance on the coast.
>>
Arguably climate change believers were correct and deniers were and are dicksucking faggots
>>
>>544524895
wow look at all this cheap coastal real estate made worthless by prohibitive insurance premiums
>>
>>544524890
It's a roland emmerich movie bro it's not exactly in touch with real science.

Believer

It was never a serious premise.
They say the storms instantly freeze things by pulling down super cold air from the top of the atmosphere where it merges with space- expecting audiences to unquestioningly associate space with extreme cold.
In reality the top layer of the atmosphere gets heated by the sun, the same as the rest.

Despite the obvious climate change narrative, this film is definitely one of the best nature disaster kinos.
The tornados in LA scene is just pure cinema

Society needs less tolerance for ADHD type behavior and vibes

global warming is real but it doesn't matter; the climate always changes and has been changing since the earth formed; we are at the end of an ice age so warming is to be expected as we transition out of the ice age and the caps disappear.
all perfect normal, and thanks to technology we can keep animals that would go extinct alive, or at least encode their genetic info for resurrection in the technologically enhanced future.

Ironically by driving up oil prices and therefore accelerating the transition towards renewables, Trump may ultimately have a more positive impact on the environment than a million Greta Thunbergs.
>>
>>544524903
>one of the best nature disaster kinos
it has to be the last good one

2012 is borderline slop
Moonfall was dogshit
Twisters was meh
Geostorm was... so forgettable I don't even remember if I liked it or not
what else am I missing
>>
>>544524906
But every country who moves towards renewables sees their energy prices go up
>>
>>544524908
supply cannot keep up with demand, this was true before datacenter buildout put huge pressure on demand.
>>
so when are the ice caps melting?
they really hurt their credibility with the overly optimistic predictions huh?
>>
>>544524890
Look up what's happening with the north atlantic current. What happened in the movie is actually happening, just at more realistic speed. You're laughing now. Your grandkids might not be. "Global warming" is just the lead up to the snowball that is coming
>>
>>544524910
Arctic/North Pole ice cap is getting closer and closer to fully melting each year.
You can verify this by how Russia and Canada both keep boasting about how shipping around the Arctic is becoming easier for them
>>
>>544524891
it wasnt even hot. i had less 100 degree weather days than last year
>>
>>544524912
conversely antartica is expanding
>>
>>544524914
No, it's shrinking if you look at the longer term trend. It's just not setting a new record for lowest extent every single year in a perfectly linear way

nothing ever happens
I'm all in on nothing

And Plymouth rock is still above sea level.
>>
>>544524905
the problem isn't the change itself but the rate at which it changes

y-you mean I will have to order TWO iced teas instead of just one?
AAAAAAAHHHHH SAVE ME TIDAL WAVES!!!
>>
>>544524893
It's exactly the best thing. Short northern summers increases snow pack, which raises the albedo of earth, which leads to more snow , and so on into an ice age.
>>
>>544524891
>we just had the hottest summer in history
Oh is that what the thermometer said at the airport?

And?

is that supposed to be a question? AND when the climate changes faster than life's ability to adapt then that's how you get mass die offs. The actual danger of global warming isn't that it will be warmer it's the fact as Earth's temperature increases more energy gets added to the system which causes much more chaotic and powerful weather events
