If it needs a runway to land and take off, it's not a flying car.

helicopter chads will always win in cost and duration

Atleast it can fly for more than 5 seconds

It's getting closer
In the first half of the twentieth century, people anticipated that helicopters would become ubiquitous personal vehicles

Nope
A proper flying car has to take off straight up, then just zoom away, like in Back to the Future

The roadster is the nerdier of the two.
The planelike car has soft curves which are feminine shapes. Women like a soft and curvy car because it looks safer and less risky to drive.
Men meanwhile like a soft and curvy car because of the visual beauty of it.
The edges and flat planes of the roadster are highly aggressive shapes which invoke anger and a combative stance, which raises people's stress much like the Cybertruck does.
In addition, the roadster doesn't look "cool". It's overstated, not understated. It's a very hot car that screams at everyone.
>but it's so impressive and fast it mogs everything how can it not be cool wtf is wrong with you
The presentation is impressive.
The video is impressive.
That car will never get on the road. It won't even be allowed on race tracks.
The intermediate version that has the fans won't be allowed either, because the force from those fan exhausts make it a hazard to the cars and everything and everyone around it.
That means that the version you'll actually be able to buy and drive legally on the public road and on track days, is the 2,8s 0-60 version that doesn't have thrusters or fans, and only looks the part of what you've just seen.
Meaning that when you get in one expecting the huge acceleration, you're gonna get the same acceleration you get from a high spec model S. Probably the acceleration most customers already know.
That'll be disappointing, not exciting.

Also note how nobody's talking about range.
This is a €250.000,- electric car. It had better have range... but if it has range, it won't handle well, because that's the EV's handicap.
Eco tyres don't grip. Heavy batteries break traction in tight corners. Combine the two, and your fancy new roadster can't even corner like a cheap hatchback, just like the original.

VTOL taxies are coming from Joby and Archer.
