This is in no way exclusive to Russia. You just described how propaganda works in general, practically all of it is based on repeating same talking points as much a possible and people will eventually start believing them, even if they are incorrect. The brain simply becomes more comfortable with a certain narrative and eventually starts perceiving it as factual, questioning it becomes uncomfortable and starts to feel wrong. In addition to that, the source of the statement will eventually fade away from the memory anyway, but the statement itself will remain, so even if it comes from an unreliable source, with time it will be taken as factual. This is why controlling the media is so important - once you have the monopoly on truth and the means of serving it to the population, you can force just about any idea into people's minds given enough time and effort. People here like to claim they are not affected by propaganda, but almost nobody is fully immune to it, this is just how the human mind works.
