>>544574554Soul/soulless
>>544574950Generally you don't want to restore something historic unless it's like structurally important. removing wear (or character) just for the sakes of it to make it look more modern removes it's historic look.>tldr trump the person with zero taste is ruining everything
>>544574808>lead paintThis explains so much.
>>544574950literally took away the character of the masonry. now it looks like lego

Soul vs Soulless
>>544575084painting natural building materials with emulsion paint in general is a crime anyway. literal third-worlder behaviour. should be a nice lime wash/lime plaster or some other natural paint

>>544574963sad. there's nothing wrong with lead paint, or leaded gas. jews just hate it since it's cheap and reliable with maintenance

>>544574554To see the hand of the craftsman, the history, the story of an object, is what gives it value."Restoration" is a crime against history.
>>544575736They're paying Iran not to sink the ships.
>>544574554>>544575523To clarify on the obvious AI, look at how the time of day shifted, but barely smudged like an ai rendering of an existing scene. Then compare the right side of the new and old picture and notice the text changing in places but also staying the same in others. Then look at the worker in the back left and the pillar filled in behind him with slightly fudged details, same with tools on the right side, and the text on the wood below.
>>544574554At least he didn't post another giant wall of text
>>544575503yes but over the centuries we have come to appreciate the natural weathering and wearing of buildings, it talks of their history. obviously you dont want a building to fall to ruin but you also dont want to erase all evidence of its age. you need to find a good balance between maintenance and preservation of history

>>544574554wow its crazy how they took the same picture at a exactly the same height, distance, in the same level of light, and without a single marking on the ground changinghow did they do that
>>544575316>Hello, I'm Dr. Bean. Apparently. And my job is to sit and look at paintings. So, what have I learned that I can say about this painting? Well, firstly, it's really quite big, which is excellent. because If it were really small, you know, microscopic, then hardly anyone would be able to see it. Which would be a tremendous shame. Secondly, and I'm getting quite near the end of this... analysis... of this painting, secondly, why was it worth this man here spending fifty million of your American dollars on this portrait? And the answer to that is, well this painting is with such a lot of money because... it's a picture of Whistler's mother. And as I've learned by staying with my best friend David Langley and his family, families are very important and Even though Mr. Whistler was prefectly aware that his mother was a hideous old bat who looked like she'd had a cactus lodged up her backside, he stuck with her, and even took the time to paint this amazing picture of her. It's not just a painting. It's a picture of a mad old cow who he thought the world of. And that's marvellous... Well that's what I think.
