Why doesn't /pol/ support a Land Value Tax?
>>544579072Wouldn't they just raise the rent to make up for this loss of profit?
I do not want my government to receive more tax money. In fact I want them to receive less.
>>544579072Because I own a lot of land
>>544579147Because rents are determined by market pressures, not the landlord's profit.
>>544579072>why dont you add more extra steps to deal with symptoms
>>544579072Tax net worth.
>>544579403Not when landlords collude to set prices.
>>544579512Why won't you believe the screens when they tell you people don't conspire together.
>>544579072what's so appealing about simplistic and outdated 19th century radical economic theories?
in engineering nobody claims that something from two centuries ago is all that's needed for the modern world, and everything learned since then is useless fluff. but in economics it seems to be an acceptable take.
>>544579072>Why doesn't /pol/ support owning nothing and being happy?
>>544579072But why does the laborer get the land value if they are renting from the owner?IDGI
>>544579862>let big landowners make money from doing nothing
>>544579072>Why doesn't /pol/ support a Land Value Tax?Because the government is a parasite.
>>544579403Are taxes not market pressure in Italy or are you retarded? Trust me. I own a home and wish it worked like this, I think landlords should be taxed way harder but the way things work now this is a retarded pipe dream.
