It's often combined with a diet that has little nutrition to begin with e.g. processed foods. But the high ABV with sugar or corn syrup added is just awful. I'm not saying alcohol is great. I'm an alcoholic, age 42, been blessed to keep great shape thru working out and function fine but I notice the drink is getting me physically and it's not just aging. A great diet and exercise has mitigated some. But for most people the alternate is a death sentence filled with gruesome bodily injury.
