The essays lionize serial killers, mass murderers, and Manson.**Modern influence.** Rediscovered around 2015 on the neo-fascist forum Iron March and republished there, it surged after the 2017 Charlottesville rally — the failure of which extremists saw as vindicating Mason — under the hashtag #ReadSiege. It became required reading for the terrorist group Atomwaffen Division, whose members have been linked to murders and plots, and spawned an international "Siege Culture" milieu. Mason served as an advisor to the group.
