This is unironically true. I like the concept of a debit card but I would only use it for a bank account with very high turnover. Otherwise I'm using a credit card so I can challenge the charges. My black friends tried to convince me you can do that with a debit card, and they are "insured" and I told them repeatedly that that's not the case.
