I’m a 39-year-old NEET. I have nothing. I live in Eastern Europe, which is perhaps the most hostile environment on earth for NEETs. There’s no welfare, no support.My parents are getting older and older, and they’ll need my help with more and more things. Over the past 20 years, I’ve managed to gain three years’ work experience in warehouses and shops. But I’m not young any more; physical labour would be harder for me now. I have no vocational qualifications. I have no degree. I have no driving licence. My memory is poor. I’m an unpleasant, bitter person. Have all the doors closed?

You can read books. And the world is written down in books. Grow things, learn medical stuff, law, specializations. All from reading. You literally have very little else to do. So read.

Here i'll give you one big idea: learn how to grow mushrooms. Of course this may require space/room but you can theoretically find a place in the woods that only you know of and grow there, which would make them wild and even higher quality. Start with in-demand culinary shrooms. I assume some are native to your country. The porcini for example is in high demand but still affordable, and is good to start with .

I guess OPs biggest concern will be his parents now, he could not end his life with them needinghim. Money technically buys time, but at that age and with something clearly wrong with OPs health, poor memory and what I assume lifelong anxiety that stopped him from at least getting a driving license (even chris chan can drive!), within that frame his best best is nurturing and taking care of his body, otherwise yeah all doors are closed. Dont underestimate what a healed, healthy person can do, and dont underestimate the damage a sick body can do

I'm a 33 year old neet and the year that I worked full time a few years ago was the worst year of my life. I really don't understand this concept that if I get a job suddenly life will be ok. Being a neet is literally the only way I know how to make life tolerable. I hate this world and I generally dislike being alive. Society is a prison and a humiliation ritual and there is no good way out. I genuinely envy people that can be content just working a job, jumping through the hoops etc. When I go outside and see generally happy people, people who get up in the morning, get their coffee and go to work and seem generally ok with everything, they're totally alien to me. Every day I fight the urge to become a full blown alcoholic and then when things get bad enough just rope. It's not that I can't see myself getting a job, "getting my life together" etc. It's that I see myself not actually being better off because of it. I simply don't care and stopped caring a long time ago. I'm just biding my time until death in this circus.
