I used to think it was fucking funny and unthinkable that the brute species in halo nuked themselves back to the Stone Age at least once and never got their shit together. Now that I’m older and I’m noticing more- I’m wondering if that was Bungies warning about what might happen to us.
>>544599406Total 343 death
>>544600156Even people in Mexico hate 343? Based.
>>544600156The lore they made is kino althoughbeit
>>544601253No, humans are forerunners, not sexually attracted to forerunners
>>544601253No it's not. It's just over explained midwit capeshit tier crap. They absolutely ruined the flood.
>>544601882>They absolutely ruined [faction with zero lore prior]I'm sorry, but I much prefer what 343 did with the Flood than anything bungie might have hinted at
Maybe a rich anon can buy halo and starwars, retcon everything after halo 3 and starwars episode 6. then do a wormhole thing to connect the two universes somehow. Luke meets masterchief and chief is found to be force sensative explaining hierarchy he survived the human covenant war. Boba fett and chief wrangle up prophets and put them into sarlac pit for fun.
>>544602048By making them comical supervillans who were just an alien race who turned themself into magic space dust after the got angry and swore vengence on the newer races? It's cringe and cliche, as well as strips all mystery and exetensial dread from them.Give me Bungie's simple and effective lore anyday; just an unexplainable universe-ending event that appeared one day in tiny numbers on a planet at the edge of the galaxy and grew to almost consume it. No one knows who, why or what. They just are. Even more terrifying when you imply they are nothing but natural evolution. Hearing the covenant freak when they find them on Alpha Halo hits so much harder with Bungie's lore.
>>544601716I would marry a Jackal though.
>>544599406>the brute species in halo nuked themselves back to the Stone AgeIs that lore? I thought they were just found and assimilated by the (((prophets)))
>>544599406Well Halo was originally done by Christians around Christian allegories. The story is more like like history is just repeating itself depicted in fictional form.
>>544603102>By making them comical supervillans who were just an alien race who turned themself into magic space dust after the got angry and swore vengence on the newer races? It's cringe and clicheHow is it cliche?
>>544603102I agree I found the space dust explanation pretty meh, like a 5/10 or 6/10. part of that might be that the lead up for years implied it would be some really amazing explanation or something ready cool or simply that we would just never find out where they came from. During the halo 2 days the forums always had people speculating and talking wondering about the flood, there was a lot of mystery and hype about them and where they came from. The mystery probably made them scarier and maybe they should have left it like that because after so many years chances are they wouldn’t have come up with a 10/10 explanation
>>544603102No, you don't understand. 343's Flood lore is superior because there is more of it.Because there is more of it that means it's better. It doesn't matter how well written it is, or whether it even needs to exist and adds anything to the themes of the stories told.MOAR LORE! MUST HAVE MOAR! OH GAWD, I'M LORING! SUCH A WHORE! NO! DON'T POUR IT INTO THE TROUGH, I WANT TO SLURP IT UP OFF THE FUCKING FLOOR! OINK OINK!
